I have been with my hairdresser for many years. After my appointment yesterday I was reflecting on what a special relationship it is. We get a window into our lives every 3 months. We genuinely care about each other. It is an hour without distractions - simple human connection.

The vibe shift today is, I think, due to the fact that New Yorkers were on the offensive instead of the defensive.
Usually with protests, demonstrators have to defend the space, defend their right to march, etc. They get beat up and pushed around and antagonized into chaos and trauma.

Delivery robots suck. Can we go back to the 70s and 80s for a few weeks? Yes…I am clearly getting old.
In Chicago they've been a nightmare. I've watched one block a sidewalk for 37 minutes because it broke down. I saw one cause an accident with a cyclist and just drive away.
I've watched People in wheelchairs have re-route because they're in the way.
Yet to meet someone who liked them here.

Just as you thought food delivery companies couldn't inflict any more misery on society:
Instead of using lowly-paid gig economy contractors to deliver groceries, they're replacing humans with robots, who, in turn, force humans off the pavement into road traffic.
