Whenever I start to think Bluesky is bad, I remember that brigading on old Twitter got way more personal, with a junior-high-school “let’s ruin her life” vibe that I rarely encounter here. Medievalists basically had to preface every post with “I, for one, welcome our public struggle sessions.”

I'm back to say it again. The book Abundance is a crock of shit. It's vintage conservative - de-regulation, small government, prosperity for capitalists will bring prosperity for the people whose labor makes them rich, permit bigotry - dressed as "liberals learning lessons from 2024."
1. First, let's talk about the elephant in the room that he doesn't mention explicitly but haunts the whole piece: climate change is real, we've overshot the goal and the only way to turn the corner is to leave fossil fuel in the ground. To ignore that is to talk about rocketry and ignore gravity.

Something very interesting about the Book of Revelations is that in its description of the Four Horsemen, it directly posits that Famine is not some monstrous disease that kills crops or drought or anything, but a merchant overcharging for life's necessities during crisis.
