In March this year I emailed Peggy Burrows to voice my support for her public stance re the school lunch disgrace. I noted the courage it takes as a Principal to speak up.
Her lovely reply made me tear up. She takes her role as a strong advocate for her students and their whānau deeply seriously.

The professional managerial class piss me off so much (and I’m in it). These people complain about cost of living, childcare costs preventing them from having kids, healthcare waits BUT consistently vote against policies that will improve this stuff cause it helps poor people too. Fuck off.

Rate cuts are service cuts but i do think that the wealthy people who are pushing them believe in a magical world where only the services they hate will be cut, while the services they enjoy (or don't even notice are services) will be left completely intact without noticeable negative consequences
