Having to choose between Bishop and Willis because Luxon is off-putting is like taking a hard pass on tertiary syphilis, and the alternatives being mutant crabs or a mega-dose of antibiotic-resistant Gonorrhoea.

New: Climate Change Minister Simon Watts concedes the Government’s new methane target could result in outcomes not consistent with limiting global warming to 1.5C above preindustrial levels – a threshold mandated in New Zealand and international law.

This is Colton. He started a fire at his house when he chewed through a lithium ion battery. He's not the first dog to do this, and he won't be the last, but unfortunately his dad is a firefighter, so it's probably going down as one of the most embarrassing instances. We're still giving him a 12/10

What have I been saying?? 🤷‍♀️

This applies in NZ as much
Middle schoolers don't develop political identities in a vacuum. They are reflections of their parents, peers, society, and professional video game streamers.

Agree with Sacha below. Māni is always offering a masterclass. One caveat, though, and this is absolutely not for Māni or Mihi or the other journalists skilled in Te Ao Māori me Te Ao Pākeha politics.

Views from bus.

Whau River as seen this morning from upstairs on a WX1 electric double-decker bus on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16).

Boats moored at Whau River mouth. The sky is blue with few clouds. The water is calm with few ripples & the moored boats reflect the golden morning light.

It gives me the fucking shits that he & BVV are similar ages to my daughters, but light fucking years away in actual lived experience and competence. 🙄🤬

The Post Freshwater Strategy Poll #NZPol 1/2

National⬇️31% (a 7 point drop since the election)
Labour↔️34%
NZ First⬆️11%
Greens 9%
ACT 9%
Te Pāti Māori 3%

Preferred prime minister
Chris Hipkins 45%
Christopher Luxon 36%

Remember what I said about the TV One Poll?
It is true that polls move around and the 1 News Kantar Poll had National on a generous 34%. But it is understood that the National Party’s internal polling have the party much closer to the 30% level - 31% on a good week and in the 20’s on a bad one. The Taxpayers’ Union Curia Research Poll had National on 29% last week. Curia also does the National Party’s polling, so no surprises there. For the PM to be lagging the leader of a party that only got a bit over a quarter of the vote in the last election is unprecedented. Mind you, Luxon is wont to say that he is doing things differently.

Wheezing at the sarcasm

Excellent piece by @mountaintui.bsky.social

The most telling quote: "Luxon sold the lucrative Heathrow slot for $27 million in 2019, stopping the 40 year London service, but only 4 years earlier, another airline purchased the Heathrow slot for $75 million. Today Air NZ can't get it back."

This is Zebby. He finally managed to catch his tail. Super proud of the accomplishment and would like to pretend no one saw the part right after. 12/10 (IG: zebbythegolden)
