we put a sticker on my car that says 'i stop for little guys' with pictures of bugs (the kids love it) and now whenever I stop for anybody while I'm driving I think "hehehehe I have made you a little guy"

found some of my school papers that my dad kept and

1 the gaslighting about me being stupid was so ridiculous I was obviously a smart kid

2 harder and harder to believe nobody suggested I get tested for ADHD. Maybe bc I was a girl or maybe they did and my anti medicine parent ignored them 🤡

Something maybe worth noting is that all the frog costumes and signs and good-natured memeing came about because a wide spectrum of Americans saw someone in direct, brave confrontation with ICE—getting pepperballed and standing their ground—and thought “that’s awesome. That person is a hero”

I'm really glad I found other things to write my fiction about when I realized I needed a break from dystopian/apocalyptic/etc writing because of the whole living thru it thing. I'm sure I'll be full of fresh notes when I'm ready to come back to it but for now I take joy in rat magicians

A group of IL police just walked away from the facility as protestors heckled them. They began combing the parking area & grounds around the local Ironworkers office; wouldn't say what they were looking for.

Came back to see ISP and Cook County Sheriff's detaining someone.

It's wild to think kids DONT have political opinions. Kids are being trafficked. Kids are abused. Kids are doing school shooter drills. Kids are neurodivergent and queer and disabled and of color. Kids read books and watch tv and now they're online. They know!
