the thing is, they've turned everything immigration-related to stephen miller, who has never run for office, has never held an elected position, and who could not win a popularity contest consisting solely of members of his own household. he is indifferent to the future of the republican party.
it is absolutely unbelievable that the Trump administration is systematically persecuting Cubans and Venezuelans, the most Republican Latinos in the US. what are they doing

Real question: will people be able to bet on the next likely place in the US for a school shooting? How many American infants and children will die of measles in the next year?

This whole project is ghoulish and inhuman

the elevation of “separation of powers” as the paramount value of the constitution is just rhetorical justification for presidential dictatorship, since that is what you have when the legislative branch cannot constrain the exercise of executive power through law.
In her dissent, Judge Pan says the emerging view of executive power by Trump and his backers in the courts "concentrates excessive power in the President and thus paves the way to autocracy." storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

This feels like the central toxicity of these dude-gurus: They're feeding men an ideology that immediately casts it as "virtue signaling" whenever anyone states a moral value of any kind. An explicitly nihilistic worldview and a recipe for lifelong misery.

I keep thinking about "strong floor no ceiling" and how insane it is to introduce a slogan where 1/2 the words are telling a very tiny very rich segment of the population that you won't restrict them at all and 1/2 the words are telling everyone else you'll just try to keep shit from getting worse
A wealth tax is a big tent policy unless the only people you care about are billionaires.
Gov. @gavinnewsom says he disagrees with Mayor @zohrankmamdani about the need for a wealth tax on billionaires, which he is “adamantly against” - says Dems are a “big tent party” with both views.

This is insane. I cannot believe we are such a trash fire country that CNN, who makes the news, is now in bed with the company that lets you bet on the news. As if they couldn't lose any more credibility now we'll know execs are spiking stories based on how they bet and not just to suck Trump off

also nobody is stopping you from doing those things with your family now?

like yeah, it's not as *magical* decorating the tree when it's my husband & I who have to do the frustrating, boring parts (like getting it in the stand & putting on the lights) but that's life, man
Because you're an adult you fucking muppet. You gotta pay the magic forward.

I don't ever want to be lectured about meritocracy ever, ever again
Q: So you didn't see any survivors after that first strike?

HEGSETH: I did not personally see survivors. The thing was on fire. This is called the fog of war. This is what you in the press don't understand. You sit in your air conditioned offices and plant fake stories in the Washington Post

What Hegseth has, and most people who serve absolutely do not, is bloodlust. He thinks there’s something inherently cool about getting to kill people. Dems must understand, as an existential matter, that this can’t be allowed to fester.
