if you are caught driving 154 kilometers per hour on a residential street that kids live on, I am confident in saying you should go to jail and never operate a vehicle again, this goes beyond a "speeding camera cash grab" conversation you're actively a menace to human life

When they installed a speed camera here to stop people from dying (there've been MULTIPLE fatal crashes here), vigilantes cut it down. They reinstalled it. They cut it down again. This repeated itself 7 times until finally, the speed camera was - what, "reinforced"? - hah! - permanently banned.

This is the road where people are driving 154 km/h. A residential area with young families on one side, a park on the other.

And yet for some reason, people are clocking Autobahn speeds here. A few years ago a guy doing 100 killed an elderly couple. 1,500 crashes on this stretch in the past decade

Rechargeable batteries eventually fail, and tv remotes use so little power they can run for ages on a pair of AAAs or whatever, so there's not much point in the added expense of adding the bits to make them rechargable

I've been screaming about this for a few years now, it's actively keeping me away from the game, because it's gotten so constant and also definitely louder volume wise too, to the point where it's annoying at best, and if I'm too close to one of the speakers, borderline painful.

And naturally, once this technology is out there, it's a ticking time bomb until someone jailbreaks the filters and turns this into a full-blown deepfake porn generator to be used against your enemies or colleagues or classmates. So not only is it useless for good, it's a nuclear bomb for bad.

There's no possible useful use case for this. They're picturing making wholesome JibJabs for grandma, but the reality out of the gate is just going to be "high school bullies making realistic deepfakes of the kids they don't like doing embarrassing/depraved/illegal things"
