Just trying out a way of showing Don't knows/Didn't answers.
Calculating the percents of Trust level and Party, then multiplying the don't know by -1 and using geom_col()

One month out from the under-16s ban and almost all of the users caught up in the Discord data breach caused by age assurance appeals were based in Australia, OAIC has finally confirmed. www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Husband came home from his after school meeting saying the new social studies curriculum isn't a curriculum, it's just a list of subjects to be covered with no broader themes, guaranteed to make kids find the humanities pointless. "I've never felt more like my job doesn't matter"

Fascist operative Bari Weiss gets the seal of approval from her mentor, a tyrant who has galvanized the greatest explosion of Nazi activism in modern American history. This is why she was recruited to decimate CBS News:

Wait, did they edit an interview? Did they not air every second?

I heard that’s grounds for a multimillion lawsuit
I see that CBS chose not to air this part. It probably explains much of what they did decide to air.

O'DONNELL: What does that mean -- 'send more than the National Guard?'

TRUMP: Well, if you had to send in the Army or the Marines, I'd do that in a heartbeat. We have a thing called the Insurrection Act. I could use that immediately & no judge can even challenge you on that. If I wanted to I could

"both the left and the right are mad at me, so i must be doing something right" is a really stupid way to be a politician, whose goal it is to have a constituency that supports you
Democrats have this idea that you can carve out razor-thin positions on the ideological spectrum and that will come through to voters. No!

The right is going to call you pro-trans if you oppose bathroom bills. The left is going to call you anti-trans if you say trans women are men.

The Republican healthcare plan is as tightly under wraps as the Epstein files.
Mike Johnson talks about the Republican "healthcare plan" like it's highly classified information: "We're not gonna be on a conference call explaining all our plans and strategies for healthcare reform, because they're leaked in real time."

‘Experts’ on saving for retirement in New Zealand never talk about low wages or extortionate rents and childcare costs. Telling people to save, while supporting the status quo that makes it impossible really grinds my gears. #nzpol

In 2017, the fourth & final year of #NZ #charterschools, the success rates of students gaining Level 2 or higher was only 59.7%
For public schools, that number was 80.3%

If climate policy had a “best buy,” it might be methane cuts

Global methane mitigation has a benefit–cost ratio >6:1, even before accounting for near-term climate feedbacks

A strong case: it’s among the most efficient levers in climate policy

Global methane action pays for itself at least six times over

Labour say David Seymour's media event where people getting measles test showed poor judgement

Funny old piece, parts of it almost as if Coughlan's saying Labour already won the C.G.T argument this time, or at least this round. He suggests that it's Christopher Luxon who has to kill it. Then neglects to mention Hipkin's going for Luxon's CGT jugular, Luxon's squeak "It's not about me!" #NZPol
Thomas Coughlan: It's a Nat leader's job to kill CGTs – is Christopher Luxon up to it?
There's more riding on Labour's CGT for Luxon than Labour's Chris Hipkins.

Yeah NZME was always this, it definitely feels very depressing that Stuff has joined them. I'm not certain that means the rest are complicit, corporate media has always been a bubble.

The hard bit is how much National have succeeded in ruining RNZ as an alternative, and how much Labour let them.

Also has the NZ media even reported on the OIA by NZATE (I think it was) that returned evidence that David Seymour logged in to a Google Doc of the English curriculum rewrite and started making his own edits to it, completely outside the chain of responsibility and Ministry procedures?

Here's the change from 'peak jobs' for each industry. Clear that public sector spending has prevented total labour market meltdown. Seymour will be furious. [3/3]

'Resisting AI' foreshadowed much of our technofascist moment, but a lot has happened since publication. Why does a broken tech attract such huge commitments? How can it burn so much energy yet claim to save the planet? And can decomputing offer an escape from AI-drive nihilism?
On Monday, I'll be talking with Andrés Saenz de Sicilia of The Philosopher magazine about why it's more important than ever to resist AI, and how we can develop a convivial technopolitics. Register for free at www.thephilosopher1923.org/events/ai-an...
Yes, there are definitely true believers at Stuff, that's fair. I don't think the rest of the industry is all in exactly the same boat though
