We did 'soft toys in the window' and woman was out walking trying to cheer up her ?granddaughter and said, "Look, bears!" and very scathingly the kid said, "That's not a bear it's a unicorn," and I really wanted to lean out the window and yell, "Of course it's a bear, unicorns don't exist."
What's a charming memory you have from the worst period of the pandemic?

No, sorry, I mean, fucking Christ, how many nurses is that we could have kept in ANZ? How many radiologists/radiographers is it? Enough to clear the eight-month wait list for a basic CT?
As Craig Renney revealed to a shocked Dr Gary Payinda, Te Whatu Ora underspent its wages budget by $500m which has been signed off by Willis & returned to general coffers. Let that sink in. The money was there, but they deliberately underspent. On orders?

I just finished this lovely book. Recommended.

"A whimsical novel about a trans man in New York who moves back to his small Illinois hometown, walks into the bookstore he worked at in high school... and slips through time to come face-to-face with his pre-transition, teenage self."
The In-Between Bookstore by Edward Underhill
The poignant story of a man who finds he can reach out to his younger, troubled self through a very familiar bookshop in his hometown. ‘Underhill’s tender, innovative debut is the smartest take on thi...

I once had a discussion with a couple of Canadians about the -to me - inexplicable nonexistence of poutine pie. They were deeply revolted by the idea. I am pretty sure that if we had poutine as part of our food culture, we would sure as fuck be sticking it in a pie.
Yeah people, WE DID IT. Let's go for gold. #pies #piespiespies

Working with a new clinician this morning. He already said the patient needs "nonsupportive treatment" and also "Could you please copy all my problems across..." and I'm like, "Okay, but I don't know what your problems are, mate."

do you have any idea how much you have to piss somebody off to make them change their gauge
#Finland will begin to #Russia - proof its rail network, integrate with EU train infrastructure.

The Finnish government has announced the conversion of its rail network from Russian gauge (1,524 mm) to European standard (1,435 mm).

Man, to add to the pain of not being allowed to use Oxford commas when I'm typing at work, I'm now required to remove them from the "AI"-generated transcriptions.

I got what I assume is a similar leaflet "National is getting NZ back on track".
Parliamentary crest on the back page, so will be the Parliamentary Service leaders fund.

In the last two days, I have had junk mail from the National Party in my letterbox and ads from the Nats in my games on my phone. Two questions, really. One, are they already panicking. Two, which budget is this money coming from, because it looks like electioneering.

Just started work. Put my foot on the foot pedal. Immediately slid way forward in my chair, because I am wearing a fucking skirt.
