Excellent thread. It would be useful to see an info graphic linking the financial influences/influencers behind those papers that consistently mis inform re green energy transition. It could apply to political parties as well.
Truly wild that the Sun, Daily Mail, Daily Express & Daily Telegraph all covered false claims that net-zero will "cost" £7.6bn – or even £9tn – which assumes we could have free gas, free petrol, free petrol cars & free gas power plants if we scrapped net-zero

🧵A political/media guide to the "truth" about net-zero

1) Add up costs to install & run a net-zero energy system
2) Pretend fossil-fuelled alternatives wld be free
3) Do say "eco zealots are bankrupting us"
4) Don't say "free cars if we scrap net-zero" cos it sounds ridiculous
5) That's it!

So your saying a Green councilor prevented a CCS solution (which you say was credible as opposed to usual greenwashing) for an industry outputing high CO2? Where was this?

My thoughts to. Maybe this was the reason the green councillor was against digging up a heathland?
