CEO of US steel giant Cleveland Cliffs: "I am very happy with 50 percent [tariffs]. And without giving any details, I have my fingerprints on that 50 percent. In other words, I influenced that."

Same as it ever was.

In Portland, an ambulance was summoned to the ICE office to treat an injured protester (not clear how he was injured). But when the patient was loaded inside, ICE officers refused to let the ambulance leave and threatened to shoot the ambulance driver: www.wweek.com/news/2025/10...
Documents Allege a Federal Agent at Portland ICE Threatened to Shoot an Ambulance Driver
Feds delayed medics who had come to pick up an injured protester. Then, according to confidential incident reports, the agents became aggressive.

I think tariffs hurt consumers, police shouldn't wear masks, and the President must obey the law - and shouldn't use his office to run personal profit-making schemes on the side.

This apparently makes me a radical Marxist.

in 2011, the president of antifa hired me to give fashion consultancy to the organization. i recommended everyone wear navy suits with tan shoes, dress sneakers, and golf polos with slim chinos. if you arrested everyone today wearing these things, you'd destroy antifa

This is good, from Hakeem Jeffries. More of this please, in every conceivable forum:

"Sycophants who aid and abet the President’s vengeful schemes will not be able to hide from the serious legal consequences of their behavior. They will be held accountable."

I knew Fox News was theater. I just didn't realize it was a repertory theater that recycles actors for different roles.

You'd think a company that had to pay $787,000,000 for deceiving its viewers would be a little more careful about blatantly continuing the practice.

“.. On Sept. 20, Trump meant to send a private message to Attorney General Pam Bondi urging her to prosecute” Comey.

“.. Trump believed he had sent Bondi the message directly .. and was surprised to learn it was public, the officials said.” 🤡

The employment and wage benefits to adding a data center to your area: zero.

Interesting study via @profhicks.bsky.social . He leaves the longer term impact of additional techs that may be AI related for large centers, open. TLDR: reconsider tax incentives www.thestarpress.com/story/opinio...
Hicks: Indiana should do more homework on data centers
There was no evidence that data centers led to more employment or incomes. There’s just no effect at all, which is not terribly surprising.

Have U.S. multinationals been growing remote-suitable jobs offshore rather than onshore?

Elton Mykerezi & I partnered with Revelio on new analysis. Their data is built from worker LinkedIn profiles & corp structure info.

Toplines:
www.reveliolabs.com/news/busines...
US-based employers expanded employment abroad faster than domestically for the past 7 years. This is particularly pronounced among Tech and Consulting firms.
Highly remote-suitable roles have grown 42% faster outside the US than within the US since 2019, while there is no difference in growth rates for roles that are not remote-suitable.
Cost saving considerations play another large role for offshoring. For every 10% reduction in foreign worker salaries compared to average US salaries for the same role, employment outside the US grew 13.1 percentage points faster than within the US.
