#incryptid
I sent an inquiry to Brick & Mortar Books. I believe I went through them the last time I asked you for a signed copy. If it works out, you also sold 4 Incryptid books, including a pre-order of the latest book.

Just about anything by Seanan McGuire (mostly urban fantasy and portal fantasy) or her alter egos Mira Grant (SF/horror) and A. Deborah Baker (children's portal fantasy). My personal favorite of hers is the Newsflesh series, although the InCryptid series is a very close second.

That makes like… 4 books of hers available for preorder **right now.**

Wayward Children: Through Gates of Garnet and Gold
Incryptid: Butterfly Effects
MtG: Strixhaven Omens of Chaos
Alchemical Journeys: Inkpot Gods

I would say she needs a vacation but I am afraid that might kill her…

This is technically a spinoff from the incryptid series, but can totally be read as a stand alone duology.

The Toby books do not move on a pre-set timeline. They meander, and gradually get farther and farther behind the present day. The InCryptid books, on the other hand, run on a one-to-one timeline.

Similar issue with Incryptid, so overgrowth next :)

There’s also tracking down all the short stories & novellas….

No YOU’RE thinking of the InCryptid series by @seananmcguire.bsky.social
WIFE: Uggh today SUCKED
ME: What's up babe
WIFE: Well, I was molting into my 4th 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳, or larval stage, as I developed toward becoming an 𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘰, or sexually mature insect.
ME: No need to explain. I already know all this and support you as you move through the life cycle stages of an insect or bug.

If you want a teenager friendly multi-volume story of the real world mixing it up with fantasy and magic and monsters and witches and cool things, check out 'Incryptid' by Seanen McGuire.

INCRYPTID is one of my favorite series of all time and has such a wealth of material in the novels and short stories it's truly epic, just the packet alone is worth the supporting membership and it well deserves your vote.
InCryptid has been nominated for Best Series at this year's Hugo awards! Since the books cannot accept nominations on their own behalf, or write themselves, this means I've been nominated along with them!

She has 2 other series, InCryptid and Wayward Children, highly recommend, *and* as Mira Grant she has 3 science horror series: the Newsflesh series (zombies and political intrigue), Parasitology (parasites as medical devices), and the Drowning Deep series which is on my TBR so I don't know much.

I was thinking more of the Incryptid one tbh 😅 (but you have a point)

Currently re-reading the InCryptid books (by @seananmcguire.bsky.social). I had forgotten just how bloody brilliant they are. I mean, I remembered they were good, just not how good. <3

One of the best InCryptid books yet. After many volumes, the love, the lore, the strained family ties, the humor, the gore.. they’re all going strong and each additional book is a gift. Thank you for building amazing characters and amazing worlds for folks to get safely lost in.

@seananmcguire.bsky.social I love you, but the next time you do an #InCryptid book, could you maybe include a dramatis personae? There are so many people to keep track of, I'm losing track.🙄 #NotKidding

I really hate when I can't find spoilers for a book.

I'm trying really hard to make it thru the latest Incryptid novel from @seananmcguire.bsky.social, and something big just happened, and I'm on an audio book so I can't just flip to the last few pages to make this less anxiety-inducing

Okay, I'm gonna hit you with Seanan McGuire's October Daye series...and also her Incryptid series.
For Sci-fi...and humor...John Scalzi's Kaiju Preservation Society is good fun. His early novel Agent to the Stars is neat.
...and I will always hold up The Expanse novels by James S.A. Corey. 🙂

Heh. I’m tempted to reread Incryptid..

@seananmcguire is the novella in the ebook of the new Incryptid book or should I pick up a physical copy? It's fine whichever.

reading all of seanan mcguire’s incryptid stories in preparation for just-king-things-ing her bibliography at a later date

Yes, I love the InCryptid series and the Feed universe she did, but the Deep duology is some of her best writing.

Shivers down my spine good.

@seananmcguire.bsky.social has a new Incryptid book out,
and Amazon sent me email today advertising it.
(Apparently I'd pre-ordered it and they say they delivered it yesterday :-)

Both are urban fantasy. October Daye is very fae centric. Feels a bit more high fantasy. InCrypid is rip roaring adventure. Both are funny. I started with Toby Daye, but I like InCryptid more. She borrowed my name, so I'm amused. Really. Named for me. She's a filker...
