to model in any meaningful way for any of the millions of seriously, seriously chronically ill folks in this country. i used to be able to say 'if you do X and Y, there's a decent chance it'll work. and as a backup, Z can work if you do this extra stuff after X + Y"

Another thing is that ppl should know how to do an eye wash on themselves or others regardless of if they bring eye protection. There are so many reasons for this but a big one is that there are gonna be ppl there who don’t have gear & preparing for protest should mean preparing to help others

Swim goggles hit by a projectile (like a tear gas canister or pepper ball) can direct force to the area around your eyeball and pop it out of your skull.

Pro tip to reporters and protesters: always have swim goggles in your pockets or bags. They’re small, $10 and if tear gas is used, slip them on & no matter how much you cough, you’ll still be able to SEE without burning eyes.
