Yes headstraps are better. I don’t like ear loops, they hurt my ears.

Yes that’s good point.

Note the mask in the photo is a ffp3 respirator Not an FRSM (surgical) as we are seeing on the front on some press in the UK.

Data for England show COVID levels increasing.
Little likelihood that these data have peaked yet.
Issues?
🛑Limited testing
🛑Waning immunity
🛑Low priority by leaders
🛑Limited vaccine eligibility
🛑Scant use of face coverings
🛑HCAIs in healthcare settings
🛑Mixing in poorly ventilated, cramped spaces.

I don’t usually talk about handwashing and its importance but it goes without saying that we should all wash our hands well. It’s particularly important because COVID infections can cause immune dysregulation leaving us at increased risk of other infections. So yes covid is predominantly airborne

There have been plenty of concerning studies on immune damage from COVID over the last few years.
elhopkins.bsky.social
but don’t forget to pay attention to handwashing. Covid is also not the only nasty out there.

Another article that fails to talk about COViD being predominantly airborne and just focuses on handwashing only. Also again, no mention of #PostInfectionRisk. This is not a normal situation to be failing to prevent airborne infections.

There’s a comment piece in The Times about sickness benefits mysteriously going up and no mention of Covid, long Covid, the effects of lockdown etc. Boosters help people stay healthy, but now they are only available to the very old or people who can afford them.

It’s dispiriting that this is what getting a COVID vaccination now looks like to this chronic asthmatic.

'Most people now know someone in bed with COVID. If someone says they are in bed with flu, it’s almost certainly COVID, given the number of people admitted to hospital for COVID last week was 50 times higher than the number admitted for flu!' @chrischirp.bsky.social
