My neighbour is in her 60s & normally sharp as a tack. The change in her in the few months since I last spoke to her was very sadly notable. It's horrible how fast it can come in, horrendously cruel.

Yesterday, he had a surprise mid day snack, followed by chasing his new ping-pong ball round the house, then a thorough brush with the furminator and a cuddle with his mother. He says he's looking forward to what today brings... after a nap on his heat pad.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Sensible advice for anyone.
There has always been abuse of women in Ireland, I suspect the trouble's trauma has added to it. It doesn't excuse it, but it is something that needs addressed. Between the generational trauma and poverty here, we haven't stood much of a chance of balanced mental health.

It's devastating. The violence against women here is just swept under the rug, excuses made for men being under pressure & women not knowing their place. The misogyny here is horrendous.
