The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.

The thing is, if you genuinely believed that preteen girls are old enough to be mothers while males in their thirties are too young to comprehend fascism, then you logically wouldn't trust men to be responsible for anything more consequential than a balloon animal, let alone a government

They're selling regular index cards, but because they call them "analog cards" it's $100.

In general, there’s only one reason why something might breach the ECHR. It’s because it breaches human rights.

Our healthcare sector is built on the rich diversity of its workforce.

Today we’re calling on the media and some politicians to stop spreading misinformation and anti-migrant rhetoric.

Trade unions demand end to attacks on overseas workforce
Employees from ‘international backgrounds, or perceived as ethnically distinct from the majority population, are facing a sustained campaign of anti-migrant rhetoric’

This was abundantly clear to those of us in parts of the UK that were still fighting for abortion rights at the time, a fact that was routinely ignored or misrepresented by the British "feminists" with columns in newspapers.
2013: Evangelicals: "We're going to use feminist sounding language to separate the T from the LGB, to ultimately ban abortion."

2014: UK 'GC' groups spring up overnight, with anon donations.

10 years of anti-trans activism.

2025: The British Press: "OMG, evangelicals are trying to ban abortion!"

Liquidambar leaf palette just now👇🏼. Pause for a moment if you’re feeling anxious-your brain’s likely to release dopamine due to a positive response to colour gradation, certain bright colours & looking at images our brains find appealing. A pause here will make your day slightly easier to tackle 🍁
Liquidambar leaves laid out in order of colour, green through to deep red, on a buff coloured linen background
It’s astonishing how shite they turned out to be. I didn’t have high hopes for them, and yet they somehow managed to be even shiter.

Sorry they’re making you go through this crappy process.

That place looks fantastic. I'll pass it on, but it might be pricy for a concert weekend away.
Cheers! I’ll pass that on.
I’ll pass your recs on to her, thanks 👍
Do any of the #Belfast and #NorthernIreland folk have any hotel recommendations for Belfast?

A London friend is coming to Belsonic 2026 and I’ve no idea.

And yes, I’ve warned them about Belfast’s chatty audiences.

THREAD. When my parents' cat Bridget went missing, my dad, to try to ease his worry, painted her on a variety of historical adventures. These soon multiplied. Significantly.

After much nagging, he has had some postcards printed of this brilliant series:

It could be argued that you've never witnessed the real dark side of the British countryside unless you saw the "Marilyn Monroe" mannequin outside the Hollywood Legends diner on the edge of the Fens during the early part of this century.
A terrifying Marilyn Monroe mannequin, with a half-broken mouth, that I photographed in Norfolk in 2009.
