Conflating machine learning tools with GenAI and LLMs are such a favorite of these bad faith arguments, too. Like, machines studying X-rays to better understand cancer is not the same thing as Open AI swallowing all my books via piracy to regurgitate sentences that sound similar. It's just not.

Good news! Tiny dog isn't broken. Vet thinks maybe a soft tissue injury, anti-inflammatory painkillers and if he isn't better then back for x-rays. Please pray for him, I can't afford x-rays.

To be clear, comparatively clean fusion power may be in our future, but it won't be "cold" and won't be radiation free. Even aneutronic fusion--if ever realized--must necessarily emit huge amounts of x-rays, with much, much higher losses. There are no way around physics.

SDO AIA 193 Å imagery beside GOES X-rays showing the first CME due to the minor M-flare followed by the wide coronal EUV wave (shockwave) due to the X4 event. This CME may produce a glancing impact at Earth around 12 UT on Nov 16 based on preliminary modeling.

Update: Urgent Care said it was a fracture. Then they called to say the radiographer couldn't see a fracture. Then I went to the hand specialist, who took more X-rays and definitely stated there is no fracture, just a bad contusion. So I am free of the dreaded Cast That Halts Typing, but OUCHIE!!

When I worked at Nat Geo I wrote a piece about the preservation of spacesuits and received high-res photos of x-rays of spacesuits which I printed and hung on my bathroom and love looking at.

They are saying that no one will be able to talk to me about what’s going on until ten pm but that I shouldn’t go home. They’ve done more x rays & bloodwork which seems weird since I brought her X-rays with me so what else needed x-rayed?
