#Diets
Give us Lord our daily fiber. Forgive us our diets' lack of fruits and vegetables. Save us from the leftover Halloween candy. Now and Later, Good & Plenty. Amen.

💯 and for people who have medical issues and restricted diets- I can’t even imagine the fear at the moment.

Man, the puritanical, moralizing way people talk about other people's social media diets continues to amaze me.

Just wow.

Boosting! This would be a great nonprofit or social entrepreneurship idea for someone.

(Allergens and special diets are also an issue for food relief programs. It’s complicated!)
i really wish there were meal kits that catered to people with allergies. All the ones i’ve checked don’t have gluten free or dairy free, or only have one when i need both. i can’t have seafood either.

There's a chapter in THE ROAD TO WIGAN PIER (1937) where George Orwell expresses his frustration with how bad the diets of the poor are and how they seem to waste money on junk relative to more optimized food consumption habits. Very old discourse.

It's time for a snack in Kharkiv, Ukraine! Our #ChefsForUkraine teams have been working hard to create a kit designed for kids living in frontline communities. These kits, which include granola, nuts, cocoa, and more, are designed to supplement kids' diets while spreading joy and comfort.

Myths about our ancestors' meaty diets animate modern politics and culture wars about food and identity. But the history of human diets tells a different story about food's past and lets us be more rational about its future.

if you’re donating to food banks please consider monetary donations as well as gluten free, kosher, and other donations for people with specific diets!

We love to encourage people to reduce the meat and dairy in their diets, but understand that it can be hard to know where to start, and unfortunately many people are put off by the perceived cost. If you want to try adding more plant-based meals to your life, are some resources to get started! 🧵

Money is the best thing you can give to your local food bank, but if you do give food, please consider alternative diets (kosher, halal, vegan, gluten free, etc.) when you are donating.

Also see if they take pet food.

Maybe news diets should become a thing, like declaring a fasting day.

Animal agriculture is a major driver of climate change, yet it’s barely discussed in the media. Meat production accounts for 60% of food-sector emissions and fuels deforestation. Shifting to plant-based diets can help reduce emissions & protect wildlife.

i think it’s so interesting that doctors won’t believe you could have malnutrition even when you tell them your diet is super restricted

in part most restricted diets are probably semi-ok bc of heavy supplementation in highly processed foods

but

if you are restricted & eat NO processed foods…

Disabled people can rarely stock up.

We lack the funds, physical ability AND space to stockpile.

Many special diets eliminate canned and frozen food.

Lastly you can’t “stockpile” when living paycheque to paycheque.

They just want to blame the poor so no one helps them

It’s a cull.
Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana blames SNAP recipients for not stockpiling a month's worth of food.

He ends his tweet with "stop smoking crack."

Krill can remove as much as 23 megatons of c02 from the atmosphere annually.
and supports the diets of several whale species, including the largest animals to ever exist, seabirds, seals, and more.
Now humans are taking that krill threatening marine life

Whales need krill to survive. We want it for supplements.
Marine mammals that almost went extinct are now competing with commercial trawlers for food.

When it comes to staying healthy, low-carb or Paleo diets are popular. But both very low and very high carbohydrate intake may raise mortality risk. So while it’s nothing revolutionary, a balanced mix might actually be the most sustainable approach.

So I’m kind of thinking this deserves a fleshed-out treatment. Because it’s not only testosterone but the increasingly known health risks of all the protein and other health supplements that have flooded our marketplace and diets.

And fitness influencing is especially popular on the right.
A huge problem with our country is middle aged dipshits mainlining testosterone.
This has absolutely nothing to do with readiness

Many people have no choice but to have less healthy diets. It's not a moral failing.

In my case however, it is a moral failing.

I was just in New York for ten days and the bodegas sucked sorry. If you’re a local I could see how maybe it’s nice in a communal sense, but as a store it was like oh cool you guys carry only diets of every soda for some reason except Dr Pepper which you only sell in 8 oz cans
