Morning All !

A bit of an experiment for #Scape Friday. Taken this morning, I liked the way the sun was hitting the tree and hedge. I've added soft focus to accentuate the mist and a little vignette, I rather like the dreamy feel... what do you think ?

A field maple (I think) towers above the hedgerow it is growing in. The last remnants of it's leaves glow gold in the early morning sun as does the top of the hedgerow. Beyond in the distance a stand of trees is softened by the remains of the early morning mist.

Enryaku-ji is located on Mt. Hiei in Ōtsu, overlooking #Kyoto. It takes a bit of effort to get there, but once you arrive during #autumn season, the rewards are great.

A floral bouquet in warm tones is arranged in a hollowed out pumpkin. It's sitting on a white tablecloth. The arrangement is a little bit of a neighbourhood snapshot plus a dose of teamwork. Pumpkin from the local fruit and veggie market/convenience store; roses and chrysanthemums from the new florist that replaced the cheese shop; hydrangeas, curly willow branches, and Japanese maple from my yard. Cheated a bit with some sunflowers from Costco. Picture taken by @mat416.bsky.social when he so kindly delivered them to the school at 7am. Edits by me since the staff room lighting is hella unflattering.

Autumn color over an expansive peat bog. The foreground of low growth has dark reds and golds. In the distance are trees that have lost their leaves, probably maples. Behind that are deep green spruces and further back the yellow of larch, gently lit by sunlight breaking through the thick dark clouds overhead. This is a fascinating, multi-layered place! Orono Bog Boardwalk, Bangor/Orono, Maine. The 1 mile boardwalk loop begins in the Bangor City Forest and is maintained by the city, the University of Maine and Orono Land Trust. It is wheelchair accessible and would be amazing to visit in the different seasons, though it is closed during the winter.

I bought a used car this weekend. I've had one car for 21 years. It was starting to run like me; a bit wonky. I'm not a car person; kinda point A to point B. Like everything, cars are ridiculously priced, now, too. Hoping I made a good choice.

It's like they missed the point.

I left the other place late 2023 because it was too much of a hate-scape and I think a good bit of people did the same. It's not the same: EXACTLY.

It's absolutely disheartening that people gave up easily and settled for kneeling to Zod and hate.

A photo of some small fungi taken on a mossy log. The ObsIdentify App tells me they are Mycena galericulata but it’s not 100% on that. To the right of the image are partially damaged faded green leaves still on their stems and more scatter the immediate foreground, brown and fallen and crisp in appearance. The fungi themselves are just under 10 cm in height at their tallest and with think stalks and pale brown caps that are bell shaped without the final lip/flick you’d associate with a bell. In fact they are a tiny bit frilled.
