We even credited everyone who worked on localization - yes, including temporarily trade show localization that didn’t ship in the final game. Crediting people is super cool and very legal you should do it too!
We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

This was my white whale for a long time, but the sourced audio sample during Xenogears' "Blazing Knights" boss fight track was taken from Christian Brando's manslaughter trial in 1990!

Any one of these massive AAA videogame companies could file suit against the 6-piece Chicken McNobody ringleaders harassing their employees, and that they don't is a choice. I said before of goobergate that the industry enjoys having a bunch of unpaid Pinkertons around too much to ever give it up.

My I Am Not Enron T shirt is raising a lot of questions about whether I am Enron
Nvidia refuted accounting questions in a memo to analysts, saying "Unlike Enron, NVIDIA does not use Special Purpose Entities to hide debt and inflate revenue" (Tae Kim/Barron's Online)

And folks this is why even if you choose not to be in a union--for whatever reason--you still owe your co-workers solidarity. The discussions were, seemingly, bcomparing salaries and talking about a company policy change to their slack server. Someone went to management and got 34 people fired.
PMG understands Rockstar became aware of these messages after at least one non-union member of the server raised concerns about these discussions with management and this either kicked off, or contributed to, a wider investigation.

This is my grand unified theory of Why Everything Sucks These Days, bascially

Control of business decisions in general has been ceded to "business people" who have zero experience in whatever specific field the business their running is involved in.
"When Disney trusts creative people and gives them support, resources, and space to run, amazing things result. When Disney engages in executive meddling and changes directors or formats partway through a project, disaster. They did a lot of the first in the 2010s then switched." Defensible argument

This is *amazing*. This goes straight to Deceptive Design Hall of Shame.

They made a "take a break" nudge that has no obvious "ok, I'll take a break" affordance. Its three affordances are:

1) Keep chatting (default, highlighted)
2) x out — keeps chatting
3) "This was helpful" — what is this?

🧵
One of the changes that OpenAI has made to make ChatGPT safer is a "take a break" nudge. There's something quite interesting about the design here. Which thing does it make you want to click?

this point really hits the nail on the head of why localization workers are so frustrated by “AI” loc companies.
freelancers have to beg for a single dollar wage increase, while tens of millions are dumped into a machine designed to replace them.
the machine doesn’t even work. freelancers do.
one of the things that makes me most mad about genAI (and there are many) is we've been told there's not enough money for hiring. but there's billions poured into ai.

so not enough money to hire workers. but infinite money to pour into technology whose goal is never having to pay workers again.

If you fail a mission in Timesplitters 2, the game over music eventually segues into slowed down voice clips that sound demonic. If you sit through THAT, a different ambient track starts playing and getting louder before a somewhat scared woman asks “is… is that too loud?” and the game goes silent

No matter what the politicians say, this is discrimination. Look at how the regulation is worded: This is not a ban on its use for a particular indication, it's a ban for a population.

Harada basically said the same thing last time I talked to him
One of the producers on Guilty Gear Strive said it was basically impossible to source player feedback on balance changes online because nobody had original opinions and would just parrot what the most popular content creators said and so they had to rely on data and I think about that every day.
