Shutaro's various curry-related pseudonyms came from his observed day-in, day-out curry diet—as mentioned here (https://shmuplations.com/ariaofsorrow/), Aria's curry-tossing Waiter Skeleton is an homage to him, and I imagine Soma's "𝙮𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙮" when grabbing beef curry in Despair was his doing, too

This is where I think there's parallels to the '83 crash. E.T. performed reasonably fine, but Atari invested so much into it that anything other than the biggest game ever would be a failure by *their* metrics! That's not the game's problem, that's management's problem

Every c-suite's dropping smart money to chase theoretical money while they all pass around promises of massive ROIs on vaporware. Like I said, we ain't makin video games anymore. Job is make shareholder number go up each quarter by any means necessary. We're money being moved around by sociopaths. 🙃
