i think the media needs to internalize something that is glaringly obvious but also weird and disorienting in a way the media is completely unequipped to handle: trump is not trying to be popular anymore. he is not doing politics anymore. he does not care. he just wants to rule until the music stops

Trump has pardoned 17 drug dealers and nearly 1600 people who attacked Congress on January 6, 2021.
Johnson: “If you’re going to restore the people’s faith in the justice system, you have to show them that there are serious consequences for people like Jack Smith who abuses that system.”

By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).
