The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

On LinkedIn someone said that asking ppl to talk about COVID in the present tense is pedantic. I disagree. It was Charles Sepulveda, who reminded me that when ppl talk about Indigenous people it is often use past tense, and he said that was so harmful for indigenous people. Language is essential

I absolutely hate the discourse about whether Covid is "Airborne AIDS". People are using it to scoff at the effects of Covid. For acute Covid, it is hyperbolic. But with Long Covid it hits closer to the mark. LC causes severe immune dysregulation and is worse in marginalized communities.

Tim Kaine is probably the most prominent elected official talking about the very real threat and struggle of long COVID and he just consigned millions to being screwed with ACA subsidies expiring.
Sen. Kaine on his vote for funding deal

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages
