Makes sense. It’s good to feel like you can contribute as a parent. I’m constantly trying not to beat myself up about that.
Noise cancelling headphones are your friend. When I’m overstimulated I’ll have them in for hours sometimes.
Sarah McBride has been aptly using this metaphor since her before her campaign. I think it has merit.
If they not actually getting SNAP benefits there is know way this should qualify.
I was sent an invite and applied!
Long Covid Friends, I created this mantra to help me apply some positive vibes (cognitive behavior therapy techniques) to my daily routine. Feel free to use parts of this to make your own. Doing this practice seems to lift a weight off my shoulders.
More targeted means more organization with even more people so harder to coordinate, but I agree that a scalpel is better if you can pull it off.
What’s the TDLR on strikes?

May I recommend a podcast called 'When we all get to Heaven" which is about MCC San Francisco, which follows how a gay church got through the AIDS crisis. It includes tape recordings from the church at the time and is incredibly moving.
On the contrary, if anything it proved how he needs to step up since there wasn’t really much of a drop off without him. He is better than those guys, but not enough to forgive major mistakes.
He has more to prove I think. I don’t think the mistakes he’s been making this year meet “the standard”. They are correctable though, but he’ll need to show it.

Newsom: The New Testament and Old Testament have one dominant thing in common—Matthew, Isaiah, Luke, Proverbs, go down the list—it’s about food, about serving those who are hungry. It’s not a suggestion; it’s core and essential to what it means to align with God’s will.
I’m running a fundraiser t-shirt sale for Jamaica. 100% profits go to disaster relief.
I hiked the ridge once and as I was summiting Mt. Washington the weather turned on a dime from 80 to 20 degrees in about 5 minutes. We were prepared but it’s hard to put thermals in while trying to hug the mountain to avoid the winds.
This seems hyperbolic and doesn’t match my experience as a patient who has participated Long Covid research. I have heard the opposite claim, of patients being gaslit by doctors. One community is certainly more marginalized than the other, and thus will receive my deference.
I would think NIH cuts and a lack of support from Federal agencies are driving Long Covid research declines more than concerned people desperate for help.
Don’t expect indigenous people to come and save us, either.

dickerson is one of the best broadcast journalists in the game, and someone who would clearly be a real asset to a new leader interested in strengthening the network's journalism. but, of course, we know weiss isn't actually interested in journalism as such.

SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

A new startup, called Doublespeed, is being backed by one of biggest venture capital firms in Silicon Valley, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).

The new venture "is pitching an astroturfing AI-powered bot service, which is in clear violation of policies for all major social media platforms."
