"'Twas like taking bread to the top of the world!"

1973: This commercial, featuring a young bread deliverer, captured the hearts of many a pedal-pumper who has struggled up a steep hill.

Happy #BicycleBirthday to the director of this and other great films, Ridley Scott!

I once had an argument with my dad about a capital gains tax, he was complaining about how it would affect him. I told him to go look at his microwave and I asked if it was dirty. He said yes and I told him to shut up it doesn’t effect you.

Sincere question. Are his teeth in??
This tired, deeply-damaged man is so needy. He has to have references to him being president on his hat, on his shirt, and on a golf-framed placard next to his overcooked cheeseburger he's almost too-out-of-it to eat.

rich dudes got freakier after butlers fell out of fashion, like say what you will about having domestic servants but clearly it was some sort of moderating force on old rich dudes having a fancy man follow you around saying shit like "oh dear sir, that wouldn't be very becoming"

Lincoln was re-elected on a party platform saying "That foreign immigration, which in the past has added so much to the wealth, development of resources and increase of power to this nation, the asylum of the oppressed of all nations, should be fostered and encouraged by a liberal and just policy."
They're not hiding it, folks—straight up neo-Nazi advertising, from the font to the language to the 11 stars for the Confederacy. Then you have the DHS openly using white nationalist language of "remigrate", which means ethnic cleansing.

This is who MAGA is now.

A: So he could still cheat on her.

I remember Joe Manchin being absolutely effusive that the Inflation Reduction Act would bring millions of dollars to create jobs for renewable energy in West Virginia.... now Trump is killing these opportunities.

People who think its easy to disobey an order in the military live in a make believe world. We cant even report military sexual assaults without retaliation. I dont see how anyone can refuse an order, they have to be brave af and accepting of a beating and incarceration or worse.

This is fantastic. Ford says no new bike lanes that remove traffic lanes, so the City says, OK, fine, we won't remove lanes, we'll just narrow them. So brilliant. I hope they find more ways to maliciously comply. We love a workaround!

Utterly ridiculous policy making done by utterly ridiculous people.
Revised net migration projection based on yesterday’s data, the new ILR policy and an expected gradual decline in dependant numbers (Currently dependant applications are double main applicant applications for work visas but this won’t last).

Yes it is negative in 2026. Roughly -110,000 to -10,000.
