Your reminder that the Purcell "principle" is "it is always too close to the next election for a ruling that would benefit Democrats, and it is never too close to the next election for a ruling that would benefit Republicans"
A question we got from a reader:

“How can they say it’s ’too close to the election’ to make changes in Texas when the new maps themselves were just drawn!? Isn’t that ‘too close to the election’ too?”

We answered! Check it out here: boltsmag.org/mid-decade-r...
The Escalating Race to Redistrict: Your Questions Answered - Bolts
How are the new maps changing the midterms? Why are courts not doing more? Would proportional representation help? We’ve got answers about mid-decade redistricting.

Whenever you try to unbundle education, you need to explain why your approach is going to work when *books* did not.

What innovation are you bringing to the table that exceeds the development of the printing press?
No one quite knows why college works to get graduates higher wages, but somehow it does. Boot camps and others have tried to unbundle college to get rid of the useless waste and just keep the productive parts and no one has quite found a superior substitute despite many trying their best 1/2
The professor indicates that he doesn't think the point of education is vocational training and then asks students to trust that professors are designing their curriculum to maximize vocational training. Come on!

The Take Care Clause was a byproduct of the lessons learned from the Glorious Revolution that the executive should not be able to dispense with the law promulgated by the legislature. It was not a constitutional provision to empower the executive branch— but to constrain it!

it is actually kind of bananas how unitary executive theorists have taken a straightforward clause requiring the president to "faithfully execute the laws" and transformed it into a grant for the exercise of limitless unenumerated power.

as I've remarked before, cyberpunk isn't 'I glitch into the webframe and draw my katana', it's 'the life of a man working for a criminal syndicate in Myanmar who spends his days pretending to be different women online to steal from the elderly'
People are dying over who gets to steal from a dude in Iowa who thinks the model who "accidentally" texted him has fallen in love with him.
the Thai-Cambodian conflict is at least partially about control of the scam/gambling/prostitution compounds along the border.

The reason to require government approval of big mergers is to prevent market-distorting concentrations of corporate power that harm competition and consumers, not so the president can distort the market in favor of ideological allies and/or solicit a bribe for himself.

During ratification of the 14th Amendment, senators discussed whether the Citizenship Clause would apply to the children of immigrants and resoundingly concluded that it did. The text and history all point in one direction and the counter-arguments are patently fraudulent. I am going to lose my mind
The evidence is the text. All you have to do is read the Constitution.

if they wanted the 14th amendment citizenship clause to apply only to former slaves, they would've written it that way. it would've been really easy to write it that way. and they wouldn't have included language excluding diplomats if it only applied to slaves

This investment in HPV vaccines is not only saving lives: it also generates measurable economic returns & helps build stronger, more resilient communities.

We have taken our easy access to vaccines for granted to a point where we are reversing course.

Similar to the US right, the Brazilian right is also telling young people that university degrees are worthless and that you should go to trade school instead.

Just as in the US, these conservative elites will tell their *own* children to go to university and to never work in the trades.

At the end of the day, I don't believe a GOP led by the Fuentes faction can win elections. And if I'm wrong about that, then America deserves to be destroyed.
For all the leftist, liberal and moderate conservative schadenfreude over Trump's current predicament in the face of the Epstein files, a loss of control among the older generation of MAGA bosses opens up the Republican Party to a full hostile takeover by its Fuentes faction
