The distinction between liberal and left is not one the people killing US citizens on the streets of Minneapolis are making, is my problem with this debate
This whole thread is kind of fascinating to me, because it's predicated on an insurmountable ideological distinction between "liberalism" and "leftism", and then all of the examples he gives are purely arguments about aesthetics, style, emotion, association, rhetoric, etc.

Again, he doesn't have to do this, he can just say elections are postponed because reasons and our institutions will just go along with it, aside from some ineffectual flailing from Schumer, et al
strange to me that a lot of people on this website simultaneously agree that the administration is run by incompetents who struggle to carry out their agenda without major political blowback AND that they’ll pull off a complex and sophisticated effort to rig elections and prevent defeat in November

I knew that there was a Melinia Trump documentary but I didn't know until tonight that it was directed by Brett Ratner (lol) and it has three credited cinematographers, one of whom shot Manhunter, which I find very distressing, and another is David Fincher's regular DP, wtf

A shutdown does nothing of substance because DHS already has some frontloaded approps from reconciliation, DHS ops continue in a lapse in appropriations, and in any case DHS employees are gonna be willing to do their "work" for free much longer than civs at DoD/HHS/Labor/Ed/State/HUD/Trans
