I'm sure everyone will be SHOCKED to hear that the videos do not show the whole "people came out and attacked ICE with snow shovels" thing that ICE claimed was what happened. This was not a remotely defensive gunshot.

🚨WHOA. The El Paso Medical Examiner says it will rule the death of a 55-year-old Cuban man at ICE's "Camp East Montana" tent camp as a homicide.

He was allegedly choked to death by a guard during a "struggle" after he refused to enter a housing unit without his medications.

I’ve seen schools close for snow, for pandemic, for natural disaster. I’ve never seen schools close because of threat from our own government.

so much to cover right now, but a thread i just want to throw out there from my reporting is that the car rental market in minneapolis is reportedly totally screwed up right now because ICE has cleared the inventory. rental companies should have to answer for supplying vehicles used in terror.

ICE just indiscriminately stopped a citizen at a bus stop in front of the co-op. If this is how they treat the President of the Minneapolis City Council who is legally observing, just think of what they’re doing to everyone else in our City.

It’s time to face facts.

We’re already in the Second American Civil War and we’ve been in it for years now. Continuing to pretend otherwise is only going to lead to more death and suffering.

i want everyone to know how directly connected our calls to abolish the police are to this moment in minneapolis. The mayor cannot and would not order police to arrest ICE bc they would refuse and it would betray he actually has no control over them and they operate with complete impunity.

There is currently a violent civil conflict happening in Minneapolis. Every discussion of electoralism relies on the unstated premise that this civil conflict will evaporate, which is not at all obvious to me.

ICE is using an array of tools and programs to track people's social media activity and location. But 404 Media journalist Joseph Cox told Minnesota Now host Nina Moini that there's a "solid and robust" way to help combat even more surveillance: turning off your phone's location services.
How ICE uses phone and internet data to identify and track people
ICE recently purchased two programs called Tangles and Webloc, which are used to track the cell phone activity of entire neighborhoods and monitor people over social media and through internet data, a...

For those calling on MPD to start arresting ice agents for their illegal activities… my husband watched as ice pulled into the 2nd precinct and an MPD in uniform got into the back seat.

They are openly collaborating, in full view of witnesses.

I don’t know why you still think there’s “good cops.”

“What they do is not just against the legal law, but the moral law.”

Cops can’t be trusted, and words don’t count for much, but this is quite a contrast to the silence and complicity from the Hennepin County Sheriff.
Philadelphia Sheriff Rochelle Bilal warns ICE:

"No law enforcement professional wears a mask... Those that come into our communities wearing a mask to commit crime... You getting arrested".

"Fake wannabe law enforcement... The criminal in the WH will not be able to keep you from going to jail".

There have been nine ICE shootings. There will be more. I think it may be time to consider these actions in the historical context of the Central American death squads supported by previous iterations of U.S. imperialism. And ICE's hostile incursion into "blue" cities as a form of imperialism, too.

Just a reminder that LAST time Mpls was the center of a reckoning around police violence, we ended shoveling more money to police and less to social services. Minneapolis still feels the wounds of the last time, with an even richer police force.

This is what we need to guard against, yet again.
