We only got partway through a (3rd) 2025 rewatch of LotR, so we are ringing in the new year with The Return of the King. It’s nice to get the crying out of the early

I managed 84 books this year! I also graduated to prescription lenses from readers. These facts are unrelated. @thestorygraph.com

Boy, not really says “this guy ain’t got the juice” like an AI political promo, does it
Andrew Cuomo’s campaign just posted — and quickly deleted — this AI-generated ad depicting “criminals for Zohran Mamdani.”

Features a Black man in a keffiyeh shoplifting, an abuser, a trespasser, a trafficker, a drug dealer, and a drunk driver all declaring support for Mamdani.

I think it’s great your stock trading app now features actual gambling. I do not believe there is a metaphor implied by this.

There’s no easy way to say it, but “Post Captain” (2nd novel in the Aubrey-Maturin series) was the funniest book I’ve read in maybe 5 years. No one could have foreseen this.

It IS a good thing that brands are including fat people in their ads. But when that ad shows a fat woman dancing, overlaid with “72 HOUR ODOR CONTROL”, it reeks a bit of malicious compliance

Costco is a really popular subject for business-success case studies but I feel like business guys kinda lose interest when the upshot of the study is like "just operate with scrupulous integrity in all facets and levels of your business for four decades" and not some easy-to-fix gimmick
