Apparently Cash-In Cora is teaching a class on how to write romance with artificial intelligence.

Guess what, I have an actual romance craft book coming out, based on 20 years of editing and 10 years writing romance, which will teach you how to write romance using your own intelligence!

In terms of paper waste, maybe, but ebooks aren'tthe solution. Speaking as a librarian, ebooks are the bane of my fucking existence. I can buy 10 MMPB for the cost of 1 restricted access temporary license ebook. See:
bsky.app/profile/book...
Mass market paperbacks that were unsold within 90 or 120 days had their covers stripped (as proof of destruction) then were pulped. Up to 50% of the print run would be destroyed this way. Horribly wasteful: we're MUCH better off with ebooks as the cheap/disposable reading format of choice.
The mass market paperback, light in the hand and on the wallet, once filled airport bookstores and supermarket media aisles. You may never buy a new one again.

Jeff Bezos’s wealth has increased an average of $70 million every day of 2026, meaning that he could have offset The Post’s losses with what he’s made since Monday.

You’re not crazy. The anti-trans movement is not organic; it was funded by pedophilic billionaires like Jeffrey Epstein who backed a network of conservatives to accuse the same people they were sexually abusing of being the real danger. @madycast.com exposes the truth in our in-depth report.

While I'm not Roxane Gay's biggest fan, she's damn sure right about this. And everyone, EVERYONE, knows that shit. It's all the covering, lying, mumbling, and pivoting (like Elon Musk's "hand gesture") that makes it pathetic. You fuckin know!

one of the greatest human triumphs of my lifetime is the relentless, unceasing, heroic effort by DECADES' worth of doctors and scientists to find a cure for a disease much of the world didn't take seriously for years because it predominantly affected a community they thought kinda deserved it
Just because good news is worth celebrating:

There is now a Prep medication that is an *every six month* injection.

HIV has, effectively, a vaccination.

TWIN CITIES

Armed Citizens Against Tyranny is a HONEYPOT action.

No one in the Twin Cities, including the MN Gun Owners association, knows anyone supposedly in this group.

Local orgs are STRONGLY urging folks to STAY AWAY from their planned "protest."

"Sure, ICE is bad, but we need to deport illegal immigrants"

No you don't.

If immigration enforcement leads to concentration camps and roving death squads, maybe it's time to just get rid of the concept of illegal immigration entirely. You've tried it, it's a bad idea in practice, so bin it.

I've seen quite a bit of performative scolding related to books and reading. If you scold someone for what they read, how they get their books, and in what format, YTA. I'm just happy people are reading and are interested in books. #BookSky
I wish I could tell people like me, who first came to Bluesky and felt pummeled by performative scolding, that now it feels a lot less like that and a lot more like that brief window when Twitter was pretty good: useful, occasionally ridiculous, a place to discover new thinkers & writing

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...

She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

We found that Jeff Bezos paid *zero* taxes in 2007 and 2011.

In fact, he reported making so little in 2011 that he even claimed and received a $4,000 tax credit for his children.

This is how he did it (published 2021):

If you have a network with a decently large following, please consider adopting a Minneapolis family to pay their rent this month.

This is being done in a decentralized fashion because a lot of the groups getting $ are having their Venmo frozen and it's hard to send mutual aid.
tomorrow i would really like to challenge a few folks with larger followings than me to adopt a rent and raise it in one day.

my little group chat and my followers have paid like 70 families rents in the past four days. i believe that some of y’all could help us keep one family housed.
today's report:

our "adopt a rent" venmo campaign paid 43 families rents who were at risk of evictions, including several moms of 4+ children

this is the way to get rent paid fast. like. 1000x better than any other way.

State vaccine requirements for school entry are absolutely essential if we have any hope of maintaining herd immunity.

It is madness for states to repeal these requirements. And vaccine exemptions should not be permitted unless for a documented medical contraindication.
