I'm just saying, if we're encouraging so much as one trans kid (or neurodivergent kid, or just plain weird kid, etc.) to be less colorful, less loud, less themselves for the sake of the movement, then we've failed. It's 100% an Omelas situation and I don't trust anyone who constructs Omelas.

I believe the hallmark of a free society is one that protects the minority from the majority and that includes not suppressing the individual for the sake of the collective. Within reason, of course, but I've been surprised to find what other leftists find to be "reasonable" restrictions.

I love that Valentine's Day, in my lifetime, has gone from a romance-centric holiday to one that celebrates all forms of love. I've seen folks throw events to celebrate family love today, and of course Galentine's. And I think that's how it should be. We don't all need romance, but we do need love.

I know I haven't mentioned it much but the Pangolin World Day Charity Stream is happening this year! This year we're donating to the Save Vietnam's Wildlife/SVW. Here's the rules for the stream as well as the donation incentives. I'll be starting at 1 P.M. CST to 5 P.M. CST unless we hit some goals.

I hate to alarm you, but I spotted some teetiny sprouts where I planted my wildflowers.
Since I went with a seed mix representing over 30 native wildflowers, I have no idea what's growing. But this is very exciting for me and hopefully local pollinators, too!
I still haven't finished planting!

I love that so much theater is being produced in Houston it's impossible to see all of it even if you see several per week. We are SUPER lucky!
