If you know me, hi! It’s mostly shitposts and signal boosts over here.

I’m not putting a bunch of personally identifying stuff on here (still getting -
a sense of muting and blocking), so no worries if you don’t recognize me. We might know each other personally and/or I just want more good things in my feed, that’s all 💜

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Something I've been trying to impart on people is that the ICE occupation in Minnesota is both an ethnic cleansing and an ideological terror campaign. It's clear that the second part has utterly failed; the community is not terrified. But ICE is now desperately trying to salvage the first part.

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that we get rid of Miller. His race war fantasies have informed the vision behind the federal assaults on US cities, as I discussed here.
My latest: How Renee Good's murder and paramilitary assaults on US cities reflect longstanding right-wing race war fantasies and Stephen Miller's fixation with a novel about white genocide. I also talk about the stories we tell and live in opposition to these narratives and share a must-reads list.

A lot more people should know about the bravery Marimar Martinez displayed in the midst of Chicago’s occupation and the murder of two observers in MSP. They tried to kill her, shooting her 5 times, and it’s a miracle she’s alive to push for transparency like this after being persecuted by the DOJ.

in times of turmoil it is very easy to feel like theres nothing you can do to help, especially if you are far away, but i promise buckaroo EVERYTHING helps. there is direct action like donating money or protesting, and there is cultural action like creating art and cultivating atmosphere of change

Beloved Minnesota, we don't want to leave you. But we have to return to Chicago for at least a few days to wrap up some reporting.

We need to purchase new safety gear and replenish funds. If you'd like to support our frontline and investigative work (we love monthly pledges!)—here's how to do that:

White people are finding community and that is fundamentally dangerous to them.

That's why y'all gotta keep going.
It's floored me how *personally offended* they are by discovering that some white people disagree with them loudly and believe in things like helping people around them.

being 13 during the GW bush years and watching so many rotten adults around me lecture me on why I should stop worrying so much and that it sounds worse than it actually is while getting basic facts wrong put me in a state of political anger I haven’t gotten a chance to exit yet in my entire life.

I'm just going to keep saying this until I die:

In a white supremacist patriarchy, you have value only insofar as you serve the white supremacist patriarchy.

Kyle Rittenhouse & Ashli Babbitt did. Renee Good & Alex Pretti didn't. On Jan 6, the insurrectionists did. The cops didn't.

Rinse, repeat.
The people who spent years defending and even lionizing Kyle Rittenhouse and Ashli Babbitt now want us to believe that an unarmed mother in her car and a disarmed nurse were domestic terrorists who deserved to be murdered by law enforcement.

People get their news via social media these days. Newspapers always have a comics section, because if there's not something good to look forward to, people stop showing up to learn about the bad. So post your art &don't feel bad about it. We're the cheese wrapped around these hard to swallow pills.

Once again: Focusing on their lack of training is a mistake. With "better training," their violence would simply cost more, and they would still kill whoever they wanted, but make it look more professional — to make people more comfortable, the way many of you are at ease with local police violence.

The other thing that happens tho is that a large number of white people from the neighborhood show up to observe. Literally the only thing that gives ICE goons pause is white people from the community watching them. That’s why every school has parent patrols and vulnerable places ask for observers.
It's fascinating that after breaking the legal observers' car window, reaching in the car to unlock and open the door and unbuckle the driver's seat belt, they just gave up when they couldn't get them out of the car. Just walked away. Evil, lawless, and also lazy
ICE attacked an observer after they tailed a group of clergy on a spiritual pilgrimage.

Our digital producer @sam.vp just so happened to be with the clergy on their journey. He spoke with the observer who was attacked and others who witnessed the assault.
