When AI was added to a tool for sinus surgery: “Cerebrospinal fluid leaked from one patient’s nose. In another… a surgeon mistakenly punctured the base of a patient’s skull. In two other cases, patients suffered strokes after a major artery was accidentally injured”

Medical device makers have been rushing to add AI to their products. While proponents say the new technology will revolutionize medicine, regulators are receiving a rising number of claims of patient ...

This is the Stars & Stripes model and it's why Stripes has always been a great paper for straight news: Government funded, editorially independent
It’s beyond obvious at this point that news organizations cannot be privately funded. They need to be a public good, but entirely independent of government influence if we want a real system of checks and balances

No, Chuck, you’re making them the fifth highest paid military in the world. You ain’t reforming shit.
Our DHS reform demands are exceedingly reasonable.

We're asking ICE to do nothing more than follow the standards that the vast majority of law enforcement agencies already follow.

Republicans, the ball is in your court. The clock is ticking.

The U.S. currently has more prisoners and a more sophisticated system of concentration camps than Nazi Germany had on the eve of World War II in 1939
ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...
ICE to begin detaining immigrants inside Social Circle warehouse in April
Homeland Security plans to build warehouse detention facilities in other cities being met with opposition.

“Bad Bunny’s performance isn’t just the story of the ascendancy of a single performer, or of one genre,” Noah Shachtman writes. “It’s the sign of something bigger still. America’s pop culture is today multilingual, polycultural and international at its very core.”

Id love to form a united front.

The closest president we ever got to a socialist was so popular only the icy grip of death could remove him from office and they had to make a rule so no one could be president that long again.

A united front like that?
