My naive hope is that THIS WHOLE THING will make us rethink what matters, academically. The ubiquity of papers TRYING to look like THE KIND OF THING that gets published was a problem long before AI started doing it.

one thing I want to do in the future is to make the public case for a government owned mastodon instance that political leaders should at the very least cross-post their social media communications to (and the agency that runs it will be called the Posts Office)
would’ve been a good opportunity to actually make a public app designed for youth before all this came into effect

Ok Ursula. I’ll close the app and do some more work.

Cries in Australian.
i grew up with double glazing so i've never understood why 90s parents and 90s TV ads were obsessed with it. but now we have two single glazed windows, and jesus. the heat just goes straight out of them even with the curtains closed.

When austerity comes for the Forkrul Assail.

Related: Ghostbusters is a hard watch for the first 30 minutes or so.
BTW, I watched "Moonstruck" recently (also 1987) and tho it holds up brilliantly, the professor at NYU written and played as being flawed for serially dating women "too young for him" does not come across as tragic anymore, and his long speech about why he dates students is hard to take.

Timeline cleanse
So needless to say, my live-in doctor is aware that today stressed me out and has placed in my lap, as treatment:

- two slippers and one sock
- a catnip toy
- a silk flower, origin unknown
- half of a piece of burnt toast I had thrown away
so, to understand this story there are a few things you need to know

- my cat, Gus, believes he is a trained support animal
- he is not (he has relatives who are, but he is not)
- he believes he is a seizure-detecting dog
- he is not a dog
- I do not get seizures
