easy slogan for the next democratic presidential candidate is “i will reform the corrupt supreme court and repeal citizens united”
“When Citizens United was decided in 2010, billionaires had spent $18 million on the 2000 election, $13M 2004 and $16M in 2008. Then came the deluge. In 2012 it was $231M, and nearly doubled again in next three election cycles —to $682M in 2016, $1.2 billion in 2020 and $2.6 billion in 2024.” Gift:

Being furious about the Super Bowl halftime show isn't a "half the country" thing, the NFL wouldn't have done it if it was. It's a "loud noisy minority who also vote in GOP primaries" thing, and our electoral system gives those people insanely more power than their actual numbers merit.

The Right has spent years trying to push a return to child labor and attacking age of consent laws. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they’re exposing us to mountains of the most horrendous stuff imaginable while also normalizing it.

So much of what’s happening is the destruction of childhood.

OPINION: "If white Americans feel conflicted when they learn about Black hardship, it’s because they know those conditions were unfair," Nate Schumann writes. "That discomfort is important because it can lead to something this nation needs a little more of right now: empathy."

Features Editor Nate Schumann discusses a recent incident in Philadelphia involving the federal censorship of “unfavorable” U.S. history.

again we do not really do a good job of explaining how wealthy people like Jeff Bezos are

his net worth is $253.2 billion.
so he could take one million dollars, and just light it on fire
and then do it again tomorrow
and again the day after that
and then do it every day for 693 years and 8 months
