Here's their setup, which they described as "simulating the actual wearing of an N95 respirator".

Having beliefs/a backbone and being authentic is the best way to win elections. People are fucking sick of croneyism and corporate suck ups and that is why Zohran cruised to victory

You know #Measles is #Airborne, @cmadocs.bsky.social ?

Maybe get off your high horse & address your own complicity in ignoring an #OngoingPandemic, now in its 6th year, of another airborne virus.

For the record, you have NO idea how disappointed 🇨🇦 Canadians are in unmasked doctors, right now -
The CMA is disappointed and deeply concerned that Canada has lost its #measles elimination status from the Pan American Health Organization. We echo the Public Health Agency of Canada: the measles vaccine is the best way to protect you and your family.

Let's work together to keep measles at bay.
Canada can regain measles elimination status if we all work together: CMA

"Canadians deserve a transparent accounting of why so many lack a general practitioner; why ERs are collapsing under the weight of preventable conditions; why provinces failed to expand system capacity to match long-forecasted demographics, and most importantly, who is driving the collapse."
Hospitals across Canada are closing their ERs because there aren't enough doctors to run them. Millions don’t have a doctor. Millions more can’t get an appointment.

It didn’t used to be this way. Turns out it wasn’t an accident.

This is absolutely true.
I don't know about other countries, but public health experts here minimized this the same way they did COVID.

It is as if they think their job is to keep the public calm rather than to inform them.
This was clearly the trajectory we were on in the Spring.

We could see this coming.

Rather than ring the alarm bells, too many PH officials jumped on every opportunity to minimize this, even last month here in Ontario.

It’s shameful.

Measles is airborne.
SARS is airborne.
Covid is airborne.
H5N1 is airborne.
Hey @ipaccanada.bsky.social if you're done unmasking the future, can we maybe let someone competent have a go this time?

If you're still practicing to botch H5N1, don't worry, you've got that. Canada has full confidence you'll screw it up by the numbers.

It's just...a break would be nice.
Hey @ipaccanada.bsky.social how about we try remasking the future?

This would be a good year to finally start learning from your mistakes, and I think we can all agree that your unmasking idea turned out to be spectacularly stupid.

So, what matters more to you?

Your egos? Or your job?

This is a severe indictment of public health in Canada. We have lost our status as a country that has eliminated measles. We held this status since 1998 & we allowed ourselves to fail.
This is huge reputational damage to Canada & has placed our children at risk from a serious viral infection.

Take a bow.

You did it.

You've let #measles come back. Andrew Wakefield must be so proud.

You refused to accept #CleanAir recommendations from experts (and non-experts) from outside your insular little community.
It's official: Canada has lost its measles elimination status because of an outbreak that has persisted for more than 12 months. Country can regain status only if on-going spread is of measles interrupted for more than a year. www.cbc.ca/news/health/... via @cbcnews.ca

say it with me folks: ✨eugenics✨
What we are seeing is a replay of the surrender on Covid protections because it was going to impact the wealth class in a way that would make it harder to accrue wealth without consequences.

Liberals already made the choice to kill millions to maintain the wealth class status quo.
Maybe important to note it was the disruption in air travel that Democrats couldn't stand and not, you know, 40+ million people not knowing where their next meal was coming from.

The ongoing pandemic of Covid-19 has become the most extensive cover-up in human history. Authorities have ceased nearly all testing, tracking, and reporting, in an attempt to hide countless instances of infection, illness, and mortality resulting from the uncontrolled spread of Covid-19.

Why would Infection Prevention and Control not want to know who is asymptomatic? Ignoring someone who is infectious, symptomatic or not, is not preventing and controlling infections. It is denial.
Ignoring asymptomatic infections and denying airborne transmission is not what I expect from people who claim to be experts following the science.
Conveniently, the announcement also included talking points. 1: "the BCCDC recommends testing only for symptomatic people when a positive result would impact treatment or care (e.g. the person is at risk of more severe disease...)" 15/?

A reminder to reporters: be thoughtful about the voices you trust, and the conflicts of interest they hold.

You can't rely on the judgment or motives of someone who participated in a very big mistake that killed a lot of people to tell you how bad the consequences are later.

Important thread 🧵
We were never told to wear ffp2/3 respirators. We were told to wear gappy surgical FRSM masks, for an airborne virus. We were also told we could remove them to dine out in a shared air space, of course people caught COVID. We should have been told to wear ffp2/N95 masks and medical staff wear ffp3.🧵
It clarifies the legal status both of Surgical Masks and Respiratory Protective Equipment (eg FFP3, reusables, powered hoods). It blows away the myth contained in IPC Manuals and many other places by people who would have us believe FRSMs protect us against Covid-19, flu (etc)

You can't be pro-infection AND pro-vax.

Pro-infection messaging - Hooray for hybrid immunity! Get infected regularly to avoid that immunity debt! Infection is just as good as vax, except for 'the vulnerable'! - 💯 undermines vaccines.

Can't believe we are here.
I've never really understood the logic of "targeted vaccination".

Of course, money is a huge issue and we seek to get the most out of every £ spent.

Of course COVID and flu waves would be far worse without it.

But, what doesn't sit well for me is the following...

2. Uptake in older groups is usually much better than in younger, "vulnerable" populations or frontline staff, but all are declining.

Messaging is a HUGE factor.

Weirdly, if you spend all year minimising SARS2, and use flu to do so, your "seasonal" vax campaigns struggle 🙄

3. Vax 4 vulnerable groups is vital, but they're also the folks that are least likely to make an ideal response.
This means that the lesser aspects of vax efficacy, e.g. reduced transmission, are going to struggle to make an impact.
We then measure VE, and find it to be poor...🤦‍♂️

In terms of cost vs benefit, well, I think there needs to be a serious rethink in this regard to incorporate societal, clinical, financial impacts in the short AND long term.
Current models focus on preventing acute hospitalisation, which is vital...
But what about other stuff?
