I don't believe in mob violence nor government censorship of speech but it's very hard not to notice that the government that are imprisoning pensioners for opposing genocide with writing on cardboard are worried that people might not be free enough to call for acts of violence against trans women.

The idea the PM and SoS don't influence the appointment of the DG is laughable not least when the PM is tanking and needs a compliant state broadcaster more than ever (I managed the CMS Selcom so pls don't tell me that's Not How It Works either)
Seeing so many posts about who “Starmer and Nandy” will appoint as director general. Easy mistake but the government does not appoint the director general! The BBC board, whose members are appointed for rolling terms by the culture secretary, appoints the director general.

There's an opportunity here to completely reform how the BBC is governed and run. It has to be guaranteed independent of political patronage and control.
That's great for the country and the BBC, but terrible for politicians.
I truly doubt Starmer has the guts to do it.

The BBC is a mess BECAUSE the right politicised its output and trashed its standards by putting its own people in place. Now Gibb - the prime example - is orchestrating a coup of sorts.
What matters is fixing that.
No party should be able to insert its toadies into any part of the BBC.

The chances of whomever succeeds them not also being right-wingers and continuing the destruction is minimal.

As one of the peoples denied the right to self-determination as a result of the Cold War and Thatcher’s greed for oil and gas, we remain, to this day, unrecognised by the UK as a distinct people (treated instead, somewhat awkwardly, as non-citizen British nationals). So I know this all too well.

The failure of the attack ads to move votes in the Kentucky (2023) and Virginia (2025) governor races is telling. In both cases, the Republican invested heavily in anti-trans attack ads, and in both cases the Democrat won solidly.

We're disappointed to see Ben Barres's powerful book "The Autobiography of a Transgender Scientist" among the ~400 titles removed from the Naval Academy Library. Needless to say, we're proud to have published his book and will keep it — and his memory — alive.

So why would you need to feed troops once you've explained that certain sacrifices are necessary to restore order?
Why would you need a plan when nature itself is attempting to restore order?
You just need to beat the nefarious into submission or death, & everything else will take care of itself.

Fascism tells us that everyone (except the Jews and other supposedly nefarious beings) WANTS that order and will conform once educated/instructed.

That tracks and I think it's a consequence of what I think of as fascism's primary argument, which is that absent nefarious interference, the strong naturally prevail against the weak.
Who needs logistics or strategy when you have a strongman who is already destined to prevail?

Seems to me that fash tend to fixate on tactics and propaganda, are iffy on strategy, and are barely aware that logistics exists.
It wouldn't surprise me if that applies to Miller.

Both parties actively endorsed Andrew Cuomo and he STILL couldn't beat a vocally pro-Palestine, pro-trans, socialist, Muslim immigrant. The vindication I feel IS a part of that obvs coz I'm a petty little cunt. But I mostly feel intense joy and relief that another way has been shown to be possible.

Most of the organizations I know of in my area are led by trans men. Most of the trans men I know are cool. If you’re gonna be a weird dude online talking about how trans women have male socialization, that’s your own fucking choice.
I keep seeing these videos by trans guys about how trans women are dominating trans advocacy because of socialisation and honestly it's a discredit to the numerous trans men who are involved daily in pragmatic community rooted activism every day without getting involved in promoting transmisogyny.
