I had intended to go to an afternoon showing of the new "Knives Out" movie, "Wake Up Dead Man", but snow squalls have made today's transit schedule largely fictional. I'm probably going to have to call it off.

Ahmed al Ahmed, 43, has been identified as the man who disarmed one of the Sydney attackers.
Ahmed was shot by the second shooter, who was firing from a bridge. He suffered 2 gunshot wounds and is undergoing surgery.

It's interesting that Europe is standing up and doing in Asia what the U.S should be doing, but isn't doing under it's current leadership. Strengthening defence cooperation. Britain with Japan. Poland with Korea. And now Germany with the Philippines.

What conservatives mean when they say they are "under attack for their views" is that they are being accurately understood as the sort of people who hold the sort of views conservatives hold, and that makes them afraid they will be treated the way conservatives treat those whose views they scorn.
