We have nearly 25 years worth of hindsight to cherrypick and choose the perfect list of PS2 games from CDRomance or some other ISO hosting site but nobody remembers the dregs. The PS2 is my favorite console ever but none of you went into a blockbuster as an 8 y.o renting Wallace and Gromit

For every Suikoden III, Dark Cloud 2, Armored Core Nexus, Curse of Darkness, etc. you can make a video essay on nowadays there are at least 8 games that look like this bc the PS2 library was massive and rife with shovelware

See I also kinda think like "looks like a PS2 game" is kind of a stupid thing to say when a game looks bad but that's moreso lack of familiarity with the source than anything. For every Silent Hill 3 or Final Fantasy XII you had at least 5 of these

Really loving the replies on that “Gen Z likes old tech” story along the lines of “Windows 98 was the peak of Windows”. It bluescreened so often there was a way to make Windows try to keep hobbling along post-BSOD. Win98 wasn’t great! Your nostalgia is lying to you!
