It's not the world's most elegant code (I taught myself TS this winter to do it), but as a general reminder: I have open sourced the code that we use for Skywatch automation, for anyone interested in monitoring the firehose and labeling based on rulesets.

Yankee (laudatory) is a category that exists, but it's reserved for New Englanders with a ramrod-straight moral compass who would rather break the world than compromise. Exemplars are William Lloyd Garrison, John Brown and Pete Seeger.

I’d never heard of him, but apparently he ran a site called “Is Anybody Down?” that not only facilitated revenge porn but also extorted money from people to have their intimate photos removed.

The website was supposed to be shut down after an FTC investigation, but he just transferred the content.

So I’ve been put on a block list by someone named Craig Brittain who used to run a revenge porn website, says he’s an anarchist, but seems to be rebranding as a ResistanceLib™️, lmao?

“Bots, Fascists, Cops, Feds, MAGA, Useful Idiots, Russian Assets”

Bad faith actors always exploit mass block lists.

I don't like Yankee being used to describe all Americans because I'm an unreconstructed Yankee
I don’t like being referred to as a Yankee but I’ve realized this is not at all because I’m Southern, but because I specifically resent being associated with traditional New England Protestant culture and its flavorless foods
All people from the U.S. are Yankees. I say this as a person born and raised in The South because pissing off That Specific Kind of Southerner is a moral good.

It's wild to me that this guy has reinvented himself as a resist grifter on this website
Senate candidate has history of sending racist, misogynist messages | Arizona Mirror
Arizona U.S. Senate hopeful Craig Brittain made headlines yesterday after he sent racist text messages to a potential campaign vendor.

I think it's underrated how good a writer Darwin was.
Charles Darwin briefly discussed dogs’ senses of humor in the 2nd edition of ‘The Descent of Man’ 👇 and then fleshed those ideas out further in ‘The Expression of Emotion in Man and Animals’

I'm glad I disabled this because now every well meaning lib and leftist on the site is sharing that Erin Reed post about the BBC, which has utterly ruined that dogwhistle as a useful signal for detecting transphobes.
This does a pretty good job with the MAGA label, and it's got a high hit rate with intolerance, but I haven't been able to get it to not label posts mocking anti-trans talking points as intolerance. It can't distinguish tone. High sensitivity but middling specificity.
I've got a tool that every 10 minutes, grabs the prior 10 minutes worth of ozone reports, and sends them off to gpt-oss-safeguard:20b, which can then apply a label if they meet a policy's criteria.

And it's all happening on my home network and barely giving the GPU a workout.

Anyway, I find it hard to believe these accounts are real when they're literally developing exploits within a day or two of the old ones being caught and when the timeclock looks like this

The spam accounts have adopted some new posting method I can't quite sus out, where they make a post in reply to another post, but it does something odd and the preceeding post won't load in the AppView or in the PostThread view in Ozone:

While there are often some ethical issues with making free PDFs of paywalled content, in this case it seems entirely justifiable, given the author, the subject, and the journalistic imperative to provide the widest possible audience for the verb "Michael Wolffed"

The year is 2028. A greater than Carrington level event takes down digital infrastructure across the Northern hemisphere. Bluesky users rejoice, before realizing they can't log on to gloat.

Millions die as unhardened but critical digital infrastructure goes offline.
here's what's gonna happen w/AI:

• normies are gonna demand fast, free AI BUT also no datacenters.
• the consumer model shifts to home AI rigs.
• electricity usage ⬆️⬆️⬆️. grid still struggles.
• Dems are forced to tax individual consumers or eat the political cost of infinite electric bills, forever.
