in an effort to not argue on the tl about how calling a whole class of people bound by circumstance 'uneducated' is bad, i'll discuss the media part here.

it's a times problem, and it's twofold:
1. both-sides reporting, which helps spread ideas like the below
2. the 'i must quote all takes' paradox
This is gonna sound harsh but you gotta stop talking to these hicks out in bumfuck towns. I know these people. They know less than nothing, it all comes from newsmax and facebook. They live in a fantasy world and everything they have is because of the cities they hate. They aren’t real Americans.
NYTimes has truly outdone itself with this latest in its "ask white guys in diner" genre. Thank goodness we get a perspective on what's happening in Minneapolis from people in **Nisswa** who probably mean Brainerd when they say they "prefer not to go the city anymore" www.nytimes.com/2026/01/15/u...

will be super useful for tracking (wild)fires!!
For the first time, #Copernicus Sentinel-2A has captured night‑time images of Earth, spotting gas flares in the Middle East, wildfires in India and even fishing boats in South Korea.

The results from these tests are being used to prepare for Sentinel‑2 Next Generation.

BREAKING: Hundreds of sensitive U.S. records obtained by WIRED undercut the Trump administration’s claims portraying Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua as a unified terrorist force invading the country. Intelligence agencies spent much of 2025 unsure TdA even functioned as an organization on U.S. soil.

i am deeply concerned about this and doubly deeply concerned about the amount of bluesky commenters — including people that follow me — that say the reporter 'had it coming.'

want to note this terrific illo by Ben Hickey for Mother Jones!
Under Trump, the wars will continue—from Chicago to Caracas. It’s not a reckless adventure; it’s all part of the plan.

Until Trump says it isn’t.
Donald Trump was never antiwar
MAGA's critique of globalism always left room for conflict.

i need someone to explain to me why exactly people are freaking out at the times over this
This bizarre and dangerous claim violates literally every section of our Constitution, which was built by geniuses explicitly to limit individual power.

Those entrusted with enforcing our Constitution have a duty to every Conservative and Liberal American. A duty to act. Now.
