Well I mean I guess it’s kind of nice of them to clarify that yes, this whole thing is just political punishment and extortion.
Pam Bondi's conditions for Minnesota: 1) give us all your state data on your food programs, including SNAP 2) repeal all your sanctuary policies in the state (since it has led to "so much crime and violence") and 3) hand over your state voting rolls. Letter here: www.fox9.com/news/minneap...

After George Floyd's murder I was on a call with my employer's editors talking about how newsgathering after police shootings and during protests. At one point I said, are we issuing any guidance around not repeating police statements until we have more information?

Silence.

Stop. Doing. This.
Incredibly telling to watch which supposed “news” outlets and “journalists” are doing stenography for the DHS after they have been caught repeatedly lying to the press in the immediate aftermath of these incidents.

Great thread. Good information if not in Minnesota and wondering.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

250 businesses
When we started this list of Minnesota businesses taking part in the Jan. 23 economic blackout we didn't realize quite what an undertaking it would be, but we are now at more than 250 and counting.

Keep 'em coming!

This is the right question. I’m a caucus convener and will get on this with leadership.
those of us on bluesky are a bubble. we can say we all need to show up, but what is the DFL doing to make caucuses safe for vulnerable people? we can’t go virtual. so what’s to prevent ICE from showing up?

feels like we’re gonna have very white caucuses and it’s all just gonna benefit angie craig
The DFL seats won't be of much value unless we all go to our caucuses next month and then do the work to rebuild the party and the party platform from the inside.
It is long, slow, tedious, and usually boring work, but it needs to be done.

There will be a glut of memory in no time as the AI bubble comes apart.

And they know it. Memory manufacturers will very much take advantage, but they’re smart enough to see that this is a bubble with an underlying technology lacking real utility.

Im seeing discussions about consultations with congress, authorizations of force etc. I have to say this transcends any of what I would call sub constitutional technicalities.
