Classic soundtrack producer. You may know me from such soundtrack albums as "Star Trek: The Original Series Soundtrack Collection," "Moonraker," and "Total Recall." This is my personal page where I'll share what interests me. he/him/his

There seems to be some misunderstandings about the recent James Bond expanded albums coming from @lalalandrecords.bsky.social so I wrote up this response. If you like it, feel free to let your friends know. A lot of this can also apply to other expanded albums I've produced.

Thanks to everyone for your support. Producing these albums is a privilege and responsibility none of us take lying down. I do wonder if the messaging on these releases is clear. Having worked on 10 of these Bond albums, I figured by now people would understand the intent, but that doesn't seem to be the case. With the exception of "Goldfinger" (for which no additional material can be found) all of these albums have been expanded beyond the original releases and even previous expanded releases. I thought that was obvious, but even in this thread and elsewhere, as soon as the Variety article broke with news of a forthcoming remastered OHMSS album, posts started appearing questioning the use of the word "remastered" and assuming it was only going to be one disc. The goal has always been to present the score, top to bottom, starting with the gun barrel cue all the way to the end of the movie, with film takes/performances intact. Starting with "Live And Let Die" and "Octopussy" we've begun including the original soundtrack albums too, preserving the unique takes and cuts from those releases. Essentially each CD collection is two programs, the film score and the soundtrack album. We also include additional tracks like extra source cues or alternate versions. Our goal is to get listeners as much James Bond music as possible in the best quality.

Maybe a contract thing. When Star Trek: The Next Generation was coming out in HD there were Fathom screenings in theaters but that stopped because of issues with the WGA and DGA.

Star Trek VI's final was by John Alvin. I wonder if Peak was unavailable. He passed away in 1992.

Thanks! I'd say tell the person who posted this originally, but they have replies and quote posts turned off.

I'm seeing this poster making the rounds and it's being identified as an unused Star Trek V poster by Drew Struzan. I disagree. It's a little cropped, but the bottom right shows Drew's signature and you can make out "91" which would mean this is an unused Star Trek VI concept. More in alt text.
Unused Star Trek VI poster by Drew Struzan. Lower right has his signature and what looks like a "91." He dated his "Hook" concept posters the same way, and that was also a December 1991 release. Star Trek VI also has an exploding planet, which Star Trek V does not have.

Star Trek VI was the first Trek feature film not to have a one-sheet illustrated by Bob Peak. The final was by John Alvin. It makes sense then that Paramount was searching for alternatives.

When I visited The Kennedy/Marshall Company in 2017 this was the first thing I saw as soon as I stepped off of the elevator. It's the original illustration by Drew Struzan.
The original illustration for the "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" poster by Drew Struzan. This is before the billing block, tagline and the title treatment were added. There's no one in the photo to provide the proper scale, but it must have been about 5 feet in height, if not more.

It depicts Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones and Sean Connery as his father. Allison Doody, John Rhys-Davies, Denholm Elliot and Michael Byrne are on it as well.

Drew Struzan signed my copy of the book, The Art Of Drew Struzan.
Autograph that says, "To Neil". The book is signed by artist Drew Struzan.

Take a few minutes to appreciate Drew Struzan creating the original artwork for THE PHANTOM MENACE. Truly a master at work.

As I've said repeatedly to @thatneilguy.bsky.social, it could be the greatest thing ever.

RIP Drew Struzan

I had the fortune of seeing him at two events and having one of his best posters hanging on my wall.
Profile picture of Drew Struzan in a black long sleeve shirt from an event in Hollywood celebrating the 25th anniversary of Back to the Future. It was held in the gymnasium where they shot the Under the Sea dance in the film.

Drew is talking to a young man who was also an artist. The young man presented Drew with a diorama he'd made of Drew standing at his easel. Drew Struzan in conversation with a few other people. I snapped this picture at an event in Burbank celebrating Drew's artwork in 2014. Movie Poster for The Muppet Movie by Drew Struzan.

It features all of the main Muppets in the Studebaker car with a rainbow in the background. A romantic image of Piggy and Kermit floats above them.

Forget the cheesy undercranked action—this is probably my favorite action cue of the Connery era.

Love the adaptation of the “007 Theme” from FRWL and how it relentlessly climbs the scale throughout.

I even love the out of tune flutes! #Thunderball #JohnBarry

Remembering Sir Roger Moore born on 10/14/1927. He portrayed Bond from 1973 to 1985, this tribute is to For Your Eyes Only. I really loved this grounded version of 007 from 1981. #rogermoore
