I genuinely think this is my favorite Star Trek model I've ever built.

These are the voyages...

This is a special commemorative (100,000 sold) model of a range of all-in-one computers manufactured by Sharp.

Feels particularly appropriate for a graphic of the Enterprise on its screen. Keyboard... How quaint..

These two small contributions to The Edge of Midnight were amongst the earliest works I posted to Twitter in 2022. They're also still two of the only things of mine I've seen in print, which I always enjoy!

star trek is about a utopian vision of the future bordering on fantasy where people someday will be able to make good choices about complicated problems by talking to each other and involving people who know about things
The thing about Star Trek is that the majority of it has the crew spending most of the episode trying to figure out, through arguing and investigating, what's the right thing to do in a complicated situation and I don't think any shows do that now? Like in a Very Special Episode but not all the time

Any folks good at mechanical design? I'm not!

My main reference for this hinge has been Drexler's original concept art and Voyager's hinged pylon. I do want to be able to see the mechanism, but maybe less prominently. Any ideas? Or suggestions for reference I could look at?

Society is a construct. You can just ask someone to do a ska cover of Faith of the Heart and they'll say "$300 please" and you give it to them and then you have it.

Everyone, give

watching TNG episode Rascals. looked up the child actors to see if they’ve done other stuff and didn’t see much, but I did find that the kid who played young Guinan also played young Deloris in Sister Act 2 the same year.

anyway, they should have let Alexander slay a Ferengi.

Something fun I just learned is that this golden Ferengi idol that appeared on DS9 was just a mass-market coin bank spray-painted gold.

One small detail I'm a big fan of is all the rigging on the Klingon ships in Enterprise. In fact, these are some of my favourite Klingon designs. After the originals at least.

The Making of Star Trek, a film by Ken Burns
I figure Ken Burns has one, maybe two big documentary series in him before he fully retires. What do you think they should be? My votes include Football, Hip-Hop, World War 1, Reconstruction (though Skip Gates did this one well), Iraq/Afghanistan, 19th Century Expansionism.
