We have an entire class of Democratic "leadership" that has been told that it's dangerous and extreme to say this, and that does not understand that what Democrats want is for their leaders to articulate what they believe and why they believe it. That should not be as big an ask as it apparently is.
Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

There are people who could stop this if they wanted to stop this craziness. There are constitutional ways to address a president who is running amuck. Those who could get him out of office don't seem to choose that. This is what keeps me awake nights.

even those of us who keep insisting this is historically and unprecedentedly stupid are still not doing a good job of establishing just how stupid this is. like, this is so stupid it’s the kind of thing you read people in antiquity making reference to as something so dumb/weird they doubt it’s true

The purpose of politics is to enact an agenda, not to get into power merely for the sake of having your name on the door. Not to mention the fact that voters desperately want fighters not folders.

How dare the press *checks notes* focus on the president threatening to take an ally's territory by force because he didn't get a peace prize, which would then lead to the destruction of the world's largest security pact.

As an aside, he delivered an interesting sermon with Queen Mary in the audience about anger being against the laws of Christianity because it diminishes our capacity to reason, and can lead us to holding onto bad opinions.

The problem was not labeling Trump correctly as a fascist. The problem was not treating him as one. They still aren’t! That creates a gap where you’re warning people that things are on fire, but instead of evacuating or getting water, you’re casually sitting down with a cup of tea.
You want to know why Chuck Schumer is talking about affordability & not Trump being a fascist? It's because we already tried talking about him being a fascist *& everyone ignored us*.
