Abolish ICE is not enough.

Stern words for Greg Bovino or Kristi Noem is not enough.

We need prosecutions and trials.

Anything short of this position fails to address the gravity of this moment.

Olivia Rodrigo posting some fuck ICE stuff and weaponizing her massive fanbase by linking to instructions on how to call your Senator to tell them to oppose the funding bill on IG and also using Anthems For A Seventeen Year Old Girl in a different post today…she’s what a pop star should be 🙏🏻

I keep thinking “my god the people they’ve killed seem like exceptionally good folks” and I think the lesson there is that they’re not exceptional, but that wonderful people abound and that a baseline distrust in humanity is a shitty conservative trope that privileges power over collective strength
you don't become a martyr because you were a saint, you become a saint because you were martyred
I agree that we can’t make Alex Pretti a Benedictine monk because that’s a trap, but we can talk about the good things we did because people will see and hear them and think “I do those things too”

If they are doing this to white people in broad daylight imagine what they are doing to non-white people in detention facilities.

His big ad campaign in the 90s was "I'm Not A Role Model" but he's got a better claim to being one than most athletes, current or former - he's shown himself to be on the right side of history on important issues like this and trans rights (don't tell me about the dumb stuff he's probably said)

I have spent my entire adult life being lectured by Republican politicians and conservative legal movement types about how important it is to preserve the sacred constitutional right to self-defense of *specifically this person* and then secret police murdered him in the street

Clear rationale: it'd been so long since they'd done it that the Rooney's forgot how much fun it is to interview coaches, so they wanted to make sure they'd be able to do it again in two years

Oregon views Kenny Wheaton's pick-six to upset Washington in 1994 as *the* turning point in their program. They play it before every game at Autzen Stadium. This week, Kenny Wheaton more or less disavowed any connection he has to the university. Coincidence?
