My kid was subject to lesbophobic abuse in primary school because of having two mums. The school wouldn't even educate the kids at the school doing the bullying that it's okay to have two mums or that lesbian isn't a bad word.

I think also the underlying thesis is just wrong - Theresa May as regularly gave speeches that were lucid, had a clear argument, described the world as it actually was. British politics has only very recently (and really quite sharply) got this dumb.

Those people praising that Carney speech & wishing a UK PM could do similar should ask why they don't. It's not because nobody in the UK is as smart as Carney. It's because our system selects against the sort of people who could deliver such a speech.
