There’s always room for more focus on how debate is bad and has damaged our discourse. It also completely misunderstands how scholars and scholarly work gets communicated and revised.

Yup. I whole-heartedly believe dogs can't play basketball but once your opponent has a dog dunking on you over and over, there is no choice but to get yourself a team of dogs. You can't let it go, can't merely reciprocate, you must do the same and crush them. So it goes with partisan gerrymandering.
on the balance i think partisan gerrymandering is bad but the only way it ends is if democrats weaponize it against republicans everywhere they can. wiping out republican lawmakers in blue states might bring the GOP to the table to end the practice.

lots of people (on Both Sides™) had fun with Trump's “transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison” debate line without stopping to think, even for one second, about the humanity of the actual people involved
NEW: It’s difficult to account for the abuses trans immigrants face in ICE custody after Trump destroyed safeguards, oversight agencies, and data about detainees.

But 3 trans migrants told me what it’s really like: Medical neglect. Solitary confinement. Harassment. www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-...
ICE Is Treating Trans Immigrants With A New Level Of Cruelty
A HuffPost investigation found how the Trump administration systematically destroyed safeguards for detainees, subjecting them to abuse and neglect.

it’s absolutely insane to me that the new “trump accounts” are intentionally designed so that billionaires are able to legally get around the estate tax entirely and no ones really talking about that

Hilarious that this seems to be the only punishment from this tranche of Epstein files so far.

Peter Attia is still employed by Bari Weiss at CBS News as far as I can tell. Pathetic.

The same people who said Trump wasn’t a racist said he would be good for the economy.

This Trump economy is a disaster.

Our goods are losing market around the world. USA's brands are suffering. Reputation is a fragile thing. Mess up relations, mess up markets.

Time for the press to do their job. BTW, the press' job is to "Afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted."
NYT confirming MS NOW reporting:

Prosecutors began investigating Renee Good's killing, then Washington told them to stop.

Federal prosecutors had a warrant to collect evidence from Good's vehicle, but Trump leaders said to drop it. About a dozen prosecutors have since departed.

NBC is editing out JD Vance being booed at the Olympics. CBS and ABC paid millions in bogus settlements to fund Trump. CNN made Scott Jennings a rightwing star. The Washington Post just laid off 300 journalists.

Kid Rock lyrics about underage girls draw questions ahead of ‘faith and family’-based TPUSA show

it doesn’t hold up very well if you actually visit them!

abolishing ICE is not enough its members need to be prosecuted
ICE told nurses this Minneapolis man “purposefully ran headfirst into a brick wall.”

What actually happened is that they pulled him from a car, beat him so viciously with a steel baton that he had 8 skull fractures, 5 life-threatening brain hemorrhages, and couldn’t remember he had a daughter.
