the western alliance was born in the fires of the most catastrophic conflict in the history of the world. republicans are spitting on the graves of the dead. these men and women are human filth.
Genuinely insane we are living in a world where the Danish have to deploy a battlegroup to protect themselves against America. Makes my blood turn molten, honestly

I flew down to south Texas today to do my job - investigate why people are dying in ICE detention centers.

I was just illegally denied entry to Dilley Detention Center. Because they have something to hide.

New— An American citizen boarding flight from Boston to Lisbon just now told me after showing boarding pass, every passenger stopped on jetway by two ICE agents demanding to take their photo. When passenger asked why, ICE threatened to detain them. If they said no photo, couldn't board/TBD detained.

The new year ushered in the usual retrospective of the world and ourselves a decade ago, with old selfies shared as if portraits of innocents unaware they were about to be hit by a bus. The truth is, even back then, we sensed a better future slipping through our fingers.
In 2016, We Already Knew How Bad This Would Get
Social media users are sharing their 2016 photos with heavily mixed feelings about the year that catapulted Donald Trump to power.

This - I I’ve watched programs about people putting everything on the line to rescue people from the Nazis. I’ve watched on TV and online as people in Chicago, Minneapolis, and elsewhere have struggle to protect their neighbors and friends from the ICE monsters.

When this is all over I hope every ICE agent’s life is an endless nightmare of tension and inconvenience.
You can picture how it must have felt in there. Four fucking Nazis with their shit-eating grins squeezing their fat asses into a booth at a family-owned Mexican place poisoning the entire room with their smug impunity. Desecrating a place of community www.welcometohellworld.com/we-must-love...

BORTAC, the Border Patrol high risk tactical unit showed up - walking around holding up canisters of tear gas in the air.

every time I read this, I get apocalyptically apoplectic about how clear it is. it is instant. it does not require explicit congressional action to invoke, it instead only requires that to remove.

donald trump is not the current president right now, according to the constitution.

I think often about how many people (lawyers, law profs, etc.) tried to come up with reasonable reasons to *not* apply Section 3 to Trump, and SCOTUS ignored them all to choose the least defensible rationale possible for it.
I think the moment I fully lost it with American elite culture was when there was a no-shit bipartisan panic attack over Colorado throwing Trump off the 2024 ballot because of this stipulation
