To anyone that needs clarification, "your best" is what you can accomplish without damage to your physical, mental and emotional health, not what you can accomplish by destroying them

I see the issue. When we said we would replace human workers with machines you assumed the machines would work. That's on you

Oh NOOOOOOOO. Did someone scrape their work without permission, credit, nor recompense to create and sell a cheaper knock off of your work and replace and/or devalue your work with that theft? That must SUCK SO MUCH.

I'm just going to say a thing.

What a person looks like is not reflective of their soul. Insulting the appearance of bad people who do bad things as an outcome or indication of their rotten hearts perpetuates the notion that conventional beauty = virtue, a myth that's led to untold human damage.

Nobody talks about it, but physically and mentally disabled people are losing access to community through internet ID laws and real life ugly laws and are at extreme risk. I know there is a lot happening but please don't forget about disabled people.

I was diagnosed with MS 12 years ago after an attack of full body neuropathy. I’ve been really lucky that I haven’t had any subsequent attacks. Still, the possibility always hangs over me, and the possibility of taking that stress from others was joyous to me. This is so awful.
Moderna has 2 trials for EBV vaccines in Phase 1/2 and Phase 2. EBV is now widely believed to be a causative agent for Multiple Sclerosis. Just under 3 million people in the world, about 1 million in the US have MS.

This is your regular reminder that in the year 2000, Paul Rudd, with frosted tips, appeared in the Hong Kong film GEN-Y COPS as a bad guy (kinda). In the movie, he does martial arts, fights a robot, and, most shocking of all, does an entire scene in Cantonese.

Just watched the Biggs Cut with my wife. Deeply satisfying. I completely get why 80% of Biggs was cut from the final film, BUT if you don't care about pacing and are just interested in character development, SO MUCH ABOUT LUKE ONLY MAKES SENSE IF YOU KNOW ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH BIGGS

what sucks is i'm seeing this energy filter to the retail side as well and less excitement about books that aren't *already* successes from booksellers! it's the WORST!!
one of my least favorite new publishing "truths" is that books only deserve consistent marketing & publicity if they are already doing well, it's the new "needs experience to get experience" 🤡

I think the best thing the left can do RE: AI is push as much regulation as they can and then say “Also let’s make human dignity job-independent”.

Good way to reframe uni healthcare, housing assistance, and maybe some form of basic income

Everyone reading this is a pandemic survivor. Billions of us are still alive thanks to advances in medical research that are being rolled back by MAGA and MAHA.

50 million people died in the last global pandemic. This time, it was about one-seventh of that. Still too many & we're going backwards.

Also, idk who needs to hear this but you can buy yourself flowers just because you deserve something bright and pretty and you're worth having nice things
Do this especially if you’re buying flowers for you Grandma who’s been living in the same town for 50 years. The florist probably knows her and (hopefully) likes her.
Tell your friends. Even if the only florist you can find nearby is in the Kroger produce section. There is a person putting those arrangements together and they WILL work with you and you WILL get better results with a pro who’s given a free hand

ICE Chief Lyons: No.

the idea that making art is embarrassing if you don't do it well enough to make a career out of it is an objectively harmful and toxic brainworm.
An opinion I pretty firmly hold is that everyone should make a song, paint a painting, act in something, and write a book even if all of those things end up being objectively terrible
